What's Steam?

None.
I admit to having a Steam account but never ever bought any games there.

Nothing, in other words. Sure there are games there that I would not mind having but I feel I already have games that scratch just about every itch.

Linko64's mention of Medal of Honor: Airborne (hopefully got the spelling correct) rang a bell and after a quick check, lo and behold that is the one Medal of Honor game I have played. Hopefully coming to GOG this year. I can wait.

GOG fanboys remind me of vegans; buying from GOG.com isn't just more convenient, but gives you a feeling of moral superiority that you're all too happy to share with everyone else.

In my case, I picked up mostly 90s shooters to complete my collection, like Blood Fresh Supply and Daikatana, which I got for free basically by selling trading cards.

- Doom Eternal
I actually had Doom Eternal before the summer sale, and then bethseda slipped in their kernel level-0 Denuvo Anti-cheat bullshit (which you had to install, prevented you from using single player if it wasn't installed, and installed itself again if you uninstalled it, screwed over linux users, etc, etc.) in an update and I bailed. Even if they claimed they were removing it, and even if the game was half off during the summer sale, I still wouldn't pick it back up. The whole debacle was essentially "The argument against DRM."

Usually I buy most of my games from GOG (my library here is about twice as big as my steam library), but if there's stuff I can't get here, or if the discount is big enough, I'm not afraid to buy it on Steam (although I'm apprehensive to get games that require you to install an extra launcher on top of Steam, like getting Origin for Mirror's Edge 2/Titan Fall 2/Crysis 2 &3 etc.).

drxenija: Just curious, what did everyone buy from steam summer sale?
Nothing. Had troubles with my Internet connection this week and, suddenly, discovered that I can use only GOG games without any problems. So, now I'm really careful in which stores to spend my hard earned money.

They removed it, what - last month, or the month before.

Not that it should have been there anyway, or that this will change any opinions on it.

Nothing....Last time I purchased a game on steam was back in 2017 and probably the last time.
Grabbed the only games I'm sure won't come to GOG: Valve Complete Collection

Aaand... that's how you got degraded.
Show some attitude, for FCK DRM's sake! ;D
XCom : EU (2012), Borderlands 2 and DoW : Dark Crusade

It's not 'acting like arses' to rail against DRM-infested games such as offered by Steam.

A lot of GOG users don't have a "shared interest" in DRM-infested games.

Speaking of being turned off, I'm turned off by how the wording in the original post tries to normalize DRM infestation, by choosing words that are meant to imply that everyone buys DRM-infested games from Steam because that is allegedly (according to the how the OP words it) the normal & expected thing that all gamers must do.

ChrisGamer300: Hmm it seems someone downvoted the OP for merely asking a question, now this crap begins again.
But the OP doesn't "merely ask a question." Rather, the original post/thread title loads the question with a biased premise, namely: that Steam DRM is fine, and everyone who buys games is happy to purchase from Steam, and has done so in the Steam summer sale.

"Merely asking a question" would be if the OP had said something like: "Did you buy anything from the Steam summer sale?"

As it stands, the OP deserves to be downvoted for trying to force the sketchy premise that Steam DRM is fine, and that everyone buys from Steam, onto all gamers.

I mean it kinda is when a person just asks a question for the sake of a topic lol,

It's honestly not that deep, the guy asked a question, he didn't try to imply anything is better or that you are expected to do anything!

It's not that deep pal.

Well no, he didn't ask "a question," but rather, he asked a loaded question.

There's a huge difference between those two things.

The former is neutral, and the latter is not.

What if someone didn't buy anything from Steam because they object to Steam being a DRM-infested platform? Is the thread title inclusive of gamers like that? No, it isn't.

Rather, it's pretty much flipping the bird to them. It's assuming that everyone bought from Steam during the summer sale, and that everyone thinks Steam is fine & dandy, and pretending like there is no contrary point of view that exists.

This is why it's always a bad idea to ask loaded questions. They are offensive.
