Startopia It's a phenomenal game, especially since there isn't anything else like it. Closest to it are some other classics like Dungeon Keeper and Evil Genius.

I can't remember whether I managed to do it, or if it's difficult or not, but it seems that it is possible to run it at 1920x1080

Thanks for the suggestions people, do you guys recommend Tides of Numenera(spelling?), I've heard it being talked about at times but I know little about it.
I recommend you to try the Ultima series. It's much better than the slow boring Fallout 1 and 2.
since you like jrpgs you should check some of falcoms games suchs as legend of heroes trails in the skey, Ys , Zwei
I've added the games that I don't have and am able to find on GOG to my wishlist, some of them didn't come up in the search results.
Games like Ultima 7 have old graphics, but the graphics is so peculiar, that still holds strong, IMHO.

I would give it a try.

It's a pretty recent game, but most reviews seem to be mixed. Haven't played it myself, but it's said to be a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment which is hands down an amazing RPG and one I replay occasionally. Apparently most people feel Tides doesn't live up to the very big shoes Planescape: Torment left.

Have you played Planescape: Torment yet? If not, I recommend you play that one instead (that's one great "older" game!). I haven't played through Tides of Numenera yet, I just played the very beginning. But while both games require lots of reading, the beginning of Planescape: Torment immediately drew me in while the beginning of Numenera bored me. I felt like they thought the "spirit" of Planescape: Torment was lots of flowery text, instead of good storytelling with a gripping plot ...

DynastyStar: Recently, I got Fantasy General on GOG because I bought other games on the GOG Winter Sale, but it looks so dated but I can't feel like I'm being a bit judgemental. I had the same problem awhile back when GOG gave me a free copy of both Fallout 1 and 2, time doesn't seem to have been good to those games. However, I feel like chances are if I played some older games that hook me well that I'll be able to get used to older games. Does anybody have any suggestions?
What works best for me is forcing myself not to check my phone or alt-tab, older games demand more attention. After two to five hours, I'm engulfed by the mechanics and/or story and I forget that it's an older game I'm playing. That is if the game is any good, not every game ages well.

Games that doesn't age well needs nostalgia to work at all, but sometimes even that isn't enough. Some good memories should remain just that, good memories.

Planescape: Torment is an excellent suggestion if you enjoy reading books. The characters in that game felt more alive to me than the characters in The Witcher 3, the vivid language/text in that game is fantastic. The way the isometric pixly characters feel full of life and personality is truly remarakble.

Knights of the Old Republic is also great. It's right between modern and old, and the perfect gateway if you enjoy Star Wars. If you get used the Knights of the Old Republic due to mildly simplified mechanics, you might as well enjoy older rpgs from the golden era since they are pretty similar.

Carmageddon, Raptor: Call of the Shadows, Cannon Fodder 1+2, Rayman, Flashback, Pinball Gold Pack, Crusader: No Remorse+No Regret, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Red Baron, Wing Commander for starters.

Oh and Dark Forces.

Do you suggest Icewind Dale 2 Complete?

Imo it's a pretty excellent game. The world building and atmosphere is phenomenal. And the starting town has one of the best themes in gaming.
However, it is an infinity engine game, known to be kinda clunky and slow for new players. It's something to get used to - it bugs certain players and is no issue at all for others (I'm in the latter). Also, it uses D&D rules which you will have to read up a bit on to make sense of some of terms, e.g. thac0 (to-hit-armour-class-0) and more stuff like that.

If you do want to try it out, may I suggest a party with at least 1 solid fighter/barbarian (I usually take 2), 1 high intelligence spellcaster, 1 healer, and a ranged rogue that can disarm traps and unlock chests.
Thief Gold, because 20 years after release it's still the best stealth game.
