Fair enough, but I'll just throw out that the internet has made the world quite a bit "smaller" than it previously was, allowing people to discover things that used to require fairly extensive travel, which is a luxury that many cannot afford. As a consequence, "the poor" are coming to realize just how wretchedly -- and needlessly -- poor they really are, which of course has a fairly profound impact on industries such as tourism, as the "natives" are exceedingly restless and agitated, and rightly so, I think.

So you are trying to confuse people about the anti-left history of the Nazi party and the right-wing origins of it?

Wiki: "The majority of scholars identify Nazism in both theory and practice as a form of far-right politics..."

Are you hoping that doubling down on the word socialist will be some sort of indictment of it? You think socialism is about welfare for a 'master race'? Was there a part of the Nazi party that furthered democratic control of the means of production as they were banning unions that I am unaware of? I suppose responses like yours owe a lot to the amount of politik'in that goes into selecting history textbooks in the US these days - at least that's a generous way to understand you.

Well so far:

a) You've tried to minimize the association of untermenschen with the Nazis
b) You've ignored & distorted (repeatedly) how using such a term indebted to the Nazis might lead someone to question the fictional aspects of using a Nazi associated avatar and heading. Hell even without your avatar 'untermenschen' is a pretty strange insult to toss around as an American (especially given the events in Charlottesville recently and the rise of the alt-right).
c) You created fictional hyperbolic labels against yourself like rapist, and cannibal to side-step your own responsibility for using a Nazi epithet.
d) You weirdly try to associate Nazis with the left.
e) You ignore, obfuscate, or deny you've done any of the above.

It seems to me if you really cared about your time you would spend less of it trying to spin the reality of your words and just say what you did towards the end - take the advice of not using Nazi infused terms that would create questions in the first place. You're either too immature to own your mistakes or desperate to conceal something.

That's a question you have control over.

Doesn't Jeff Foxworthy have a joke akin to:
If you need to ask about yourself as to whether "you might be a redneck"... then you might be a redneck.

I'd imagine some analogy could be inferred from it.

AFTERTHOUGHT: After reading some posts here, this thread isn't long for this world.

It seems to be mostly a matter of naming. You seem to reserve the word rich for what we know from Hollywood movies (million dollar estate, pool, driver, 5 different cards), what the article rather means by rich is probably "just" well off.

To me, being rich or well off, means not worry about money now or in the future, security, a nice home and being able to travel often and comfortably, as well as enough money in the bank account. It means being able to follow my interests instead of having to take every work just to make enough money to survive. As for an expensive car: I don't need it, even if I would be a millionaire.

I would say that two times $59k=$118k income per year would actually be enough to achieve quite a lot of that. It would make me probably quite happy. But as I said, security is equally important.

You have to gauge those values by costs of living though. In Silicon Valley the richness threshold should be much higher.

Perhaps we should do away with communication altogether, to spare us from ever becoming upset. What do you think?
Being rich, means:

1. Some relatives hating you, especially whenever there is a fortune and inheritence in the picture
2. Your old man has a 89,37% chance to have sired b-word children down the road
3. Said children to suddenly appear and cause trouble for part of the inheritence or name acquisition
4. Bix taxes, regular legal adventures, lots of paperwork
5. In most severe cases, relatives trying to get you out of the picture, with whatever means available at hand
6. Having to deal with other spoiled, rich kids at school, who even think they are cool or badash (this was the real puzzle)
7. Other people see you as and treat you like, wallet on feet, especially... whoops, new rules, sorry
8. Having high probabilities to become poor, quickly at that too, especially in an unstable environment midway crisis (bad investment being the usual culprit)
9. You have so much more to lose, than others, sleep at night included
10. You 've got everything you really need to, even if you somehow think of missing something important (i wish i got to realize that sooner, alas)

This thread seems a bit troll bait, Alaricus..

Anyway, rich are probably those who wouldn't need to work to keep living an expensive life.

The car classification is bu***hit, because people have different interests than expensive vehicles.

Besides, you can't get but a couple cars with a stick shift in those 2 highest groups. And a car without a stick shift is... is something I don't care to contemplate.

I guess I could afford at least some of those in the Audi group, but goodness knows I would not want to own one. Even the RS doesn't have a third pedal. Ridiculous.

----

Anyway, compared to my upbringing I'd have to call myself rich. Compared to a bunch of other arbitrary 'standards' here in the US, I'm not.

The terms "troll bait" and "Alaric" in the same sentence is redundant. :P

and I saw that dig alaric. really brave to slam someone who you have blocked. :P

At least everyone who hates me, and there are many many many in here, can tell me about it without fear of being muted. Shit I don't even have anyone in PM blocked. Even ciomalau can message me, if that ban of his ever gets lifted,
I'm pretty sure you blocked my alt a long time ago.

As for rich, it's obviously a line which everyone draws for themselves. When you no longer care about money whatsoever, that's rich. But when you can buy everything you need and have something left over for something you want, thats rich. Depending on perspective.

As for the top 1%, you're suddenly there when you consider the world, not just the rich nation you live in. So world-wide, you're really quite rich.
twisted thing is, I am pretty well off

I mean I'm not loaded, but I live in a part of the country where a modest man can live like a King.

I could never afford to live the way I live anywhere else in the country. Also, being in a dead zone helps. You'd be surprised how much money you can save with no cell phone bill. :P

And that's another thing. It would take me just a few minutes to go across the street and, for the price of cheap lure, catch a salmon that would cost me $50 in any restaurant coast to coast.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! :D

It wasn't. It's a real article and I was hoping for a serious and civil discussion. Unfortunately thats impossible with the same people derailing every single post I make. Oh well.

I actually agree and like your definition the best. It doesn't tie one to a specific number, but rather describes a situation, which in my mind is a better way.

The car thing was just a heuristic I used. Obviously not everyone wants/needs a car. I was talking more about price points, but once again, I like your description more than I like mine.

Sounds like profit to me.
You are rich, when you are driving any car - and notice the granny trying to walk over "zebra" but no car halts, so you stop and let her through.

So you can't be rich, if you are morally bankrupt.

Because Nazism and Narcissism intersect to large degree, thats why he does it. Nazism is really just an advanced form, taken to government level. So if Narcissism causes someone to ignore everyone but self, Nazism replaces "ignore" with "rationalize" aka "make soap out of".

Its nice to know that I am not the only one who noticed that in Alaric.
