HappyPunkPotato: It's funny, I'd be quite interested in an interactive film but if it's a game I feel like it'd be boring if you spend more time watching than playing!
You actually spend a good amount of time making choices(during the dialog choices and at other points), or examining things....it's very choice heavy and somewhat brisk paced. :)

(Man of medan I mean)

Of course it also locks your choices in quickly so there's no saves to load from, and you have to live with what you pick(or don't pick, if you choose inaction or silence as your choices).

HappyPunkPotato: I quite liked Ghost Ship too.
Honestly, I thought it was quite terrible. It starts out well, building a creepy mood, Gabriel Byrne telling ghost stories... and then at some point it drops all attempts at being spooky and moody and devolves into just being loud and stupid with a poorly acted villain making evil faces. Real waste of Byrne and Urban (who I didn't even remember was in it until checking right now).

Sounds a bit like The Council then. I thought you meant it was like a visual novel at first.

Hmm, I only watched it once ages ago. Feel like I should rewatch it to see why I liked it ha ha ha!
Tric r Treat - Perfect Halloween film

Beyond that, you gotta hit the Carpenter classics Prince of Darkness, Mouth of Madness, The Thing.

Some lesser-known stuff I'd suggest -

House of the Devil - Made to look like yee ol vhs rentals you picked up when they were £2 a week

The Void - Visuals my son, visuals

Mandy - axes my son, axes
I am watching my savings this Halloween, it is a very scary stuff
I am a devout Christian and do not celebrate Halloween.
