I already know of stardew Valley and already have it on steam. Are there other games of this genre on this website? I don't mind if they're old. I mean, as long as I can run them without installing a bunch of patches.

As those are far far more sIm games .. where as Stardew Valley is actually more a ''harvest moon game but less whimsical'' thing to it in other words calling Stardew Valley a farm Sim is mislabeling as its less a sim and more a rpg with a farm theme to it

Yeah. I was kind of looking for the RPG variant of farming game like harvest moon, graveyard keeper, stardew valley and so on.

Anyway I'd suggest if you are looking for those types of games this game ''Kitaria Fables '' as it seems to be a thing you might be after and from what I have heard its a indie game .. granted I hate the fact it has so many cosmetics for 99 cents

I'm really sorry for the confusion. I've always called harvest moon and similar games as "farming sims" and I've seen many people doing the same.

Sorry wasn't meaning to sound testy just well I am one who I admit gets abit bothered when their is actual enough realistic yet gamey simulation games of something thats far more a sim to real life things when compared to other sim games that are far more a game then a sim sort.

I also wasn't meaning to be testy but coming from the fact too many used to in my time growing up confuse varies similar game genres it came off as me maybe sounding abit testy without trying.

Anyway I ain't sure what Forager would be classes as .. but maybe thats worth a look ?

Competent farming games?
Stardew.

Anything else is a pale imitation or failure.
Graveyard Keeper has too much grind for everything, Banished just didn't work, Slime Rancher isn't actually a farming game, Forager is not a game to play, Staxel is overcomplicated, as for any other farming games I missed, rightly I can't tell you because I haven't been blessed with the new store browser.

(And the current store browser is so badly optimized that it caused the OOM reaper to kick in, so thanks for that.)

I had forgotten all about the realistic farming sims when I made this topic. I don't really like games like Farmer's dinasty and prefer the RPG kind. It's a pity GOG doesn't have many options of this genre.

My Time at Portia? Though not sure if that's what you're after, IIRC it's more about building stuff than farming, and I see people recommend against buying it from GOG due to missing updates.

I've checked my Time at portia. The reviews complain that the GOG version is horrible. did they patch it?

Yes now it should be fully updated and on par with the Steam version. Just missing a couple of paid cosmetic DLCs that I never understood why they didn't release on GOG.
