Potzato: For the record it's Belgian.
And I don't understand the meaning of the english title (it just seems very far from the original title)

Edit : and if it was released today I can't begin to imagine the shmitstorm it would generate ....

Elmofongo: Like the Random scene with our killer running a beach naked. Or how the killer simply screamed his lungs out in the ear of an old woman who died from the shock and made a clever comment that he did not had to waste a bullet or get blood on his hands.

Its rather tame compared to its extreme competion like that Hong Kong made movie about Unit 731 or A Serbian Film which has essentially New Born Porn.
[spoiler ahead]

oh you know, *just* the rape scene would have generated countless threads of rage.
I don't think nowadays people could handle such a concentration of 'black humour' (not sure of the translation here) given how discussions usually go on the web.

The funny thing is : when I watched it, it was rated for 12 years and older (french ratings ofc). The imdb link I followed give the impression it is rated 18+ in most parts of the world / America.

Shows how some cultures are much more "hardened" when it comes to content like that (even the most kiddie japanese anime show has stuff that other countries would deem to 18+)

As to the film it makes you wonder who the real monster is, the killer, or the guys filming him and not reporting him to the cops as law abiding citizens.

JKHSawyer: Big Trouble in Little China.
*Nods approvingly*
66. Tampopo (Juzo Itami, 1985)

THE quintessential food movie. First scene:

67. Shadow of the Vampire is imo the scariest vampire movie ever for adding that Psychological Horror.

And William Dafoe as Count Orlok is such a creepy looking rat fucker :P

MaGo72: 67. Assault on Precinct 13
Which one? In a rare feat both are actually pretty good, IMHO.
Oh wait...you linked to the original! :P DUH!

Still the remake isn't bad.

Hmm, damn, you're right. Ethan Hawke was quite good in the remake. I think I tend to the Carpenter version a bit more.
hey i'm number 67 :P

Fixed xD

Haha, Udo Kier played quite some roles in vampire movies.

69. Pan's Labyrinth

That one haunted me for quite a while...
69. The Last Man on Earth

Vincent Price

Way better than the one with Will Smith and a good read too. The version with Vincent Price stays more with the novel, not depicting them as mindless hunters, but intelligent beings taking over the world.

Richard Matheson, "I am Legend", 1954.

Or the public.
The angle of the movie is " nobody cares about poor people suffering/dying, why not turn this as an entertainment ? " which is not such a harsh critic of society because it's horribly not far from truth (in some way, this movie announced the age of *reality TV*)
