karnak1: You probably weren't here during the great drought of 2014 (or 2015)? Can't remember exactly... but GOG went through a couple of years of very lousy/mediocre releases. Some years are better than other I guess. And one man's trash can be another man's treasure.

Anyway it seems that GOG has some more old classics in store but I fear we won't see them until next year.
The main year I think of is 2013 (one of the few standout releases I recall was Tzar Burden of the Crown) and maybe part of 2014. (Actually, thinking about it, I'm pretty sure System Shock 2 was 2013 ... but not until the fall?). I'm pretty sure the end of 2014 saw the first releases of LucasArts / Star Wars classics which was a big deal. EA brought some stuff in 2015 and maybe 2016; we haven't seen them since. Ubisoft brought a few batches around this time, including some Annos, Albion, and Archimedean Dynasty; I think the last games we got from them were Brothers In Arms series in 2016. Codemasters reappeared last year.

Since then, to me it's basically been highs and lows every few months or so - the high might be a few releases from a big-name publisher, then it's low for a period of time.

And a lot of these big-name publishers only reappear every few years, sometimes like a half-decade in the case of Activision and Square Enix (iirc). Or the case of some company like EA or Ubi, they may not come back for a long time (if ever) if their strategy involves forcing their client on people (even through Steam).

wolfsite: Are any new games from these companies coming for the Winter Sale? Like Rage or Doom 2016?

Also a heads up for people and the Flash Sales

https://www.gog.com/en/game/the_technomancer

The Technomancer has an infinite loading glitch on CPU's with more than 8 cores (and sometimes with 8 cores many reports suggest 4 cores is the max) so if you have a newer CPU with a high core count this glitch will make the game unplayable, to get around this you will need to manually disable the CPU cores (either using a 3rd party application or creating an MSConfig file).

And/or how about the final two Tomb Raider games from the last trilogy!?

So yes, it's official, they no longer are infected with denuvo!
For me Heretic + Hexen last year was a dream come true - and also at a fair price for once. I don't care for Tomb Raider or Batman franchises. To each their own!

Same!

The older GOG staff members know for how long I ranted about those games, I had been pestering them for years to bring them here! :P

Fair enough, as I have those two games as well, (Although I keep dying, thank fuck for the save anywhere mechanic!) but the exciting moment for me is when PC users were finally able to get an actual working copy of the original Legacy Of Kain!

I could never get that blasted abandonware copy of LOK to work!
Has anyone played that Close to the Sun game?

Haha, for me it was Tomb Raider Legend through Underworld, and I don't really care about Heretic Hexen nor Batman. But it was great to see all of them show up - "AAA" releases to me (even ones I don't care about) are sort of a sign that GOG still has some level of sway and influence.
