This week on Weekly Staff Picks, the scare has never been cheaper. It's a trio of gripping horror adventures games with plenty of atmosphere and ectoplasm. The Dark Fall Trilogy is up to 75% off in a bundle deal!

There are places out there where two worlds collide, where the mundane meets the supernatural and reality breaks down. Dark Fall: The Journal, Dark Fall 2: Lights Out, and Dark Fall 3: Lost Souls are stories of the paranormal, tales told from the first person perspective to create an experience that masterfully captures the eerie atmosphere of a ghost hunt. As the danger looms that just beyond your gaze, they're games best played in a dark empty room with the shutters closed and the sound turned up. A true ghost hunt awaits... unless you're scared.

Boo! Got 'ya! You'll get got at least three more times with Weekly Staff Picks: Dark Fall Trilogy. All three titles are 75% off in a bundle (or available 60% off individually) until Thursday, July 2, 9:59 AM GMT.
Already own all three.
Nice one. Thanks, GOG.
Nice game, Dark Fall. Felt a bit cold about 2 and 3, but the first one was really good.

I wonder if we might get more of these Darkling Room games here eventually. The Lost Crown and Barrow Hill spring to mind.
Can someone just tell me how frightening the first game in this series is?
I would love to play a first-person point and click game, and the environments from the screenshots looked nice, but I am somewhat worried about it being scary.

Is it just 'unsettling', or is it straight-up scary?
I read something about hearing footsteps, but... It is a point and click ,right? How scary could it be, other than having an unsettling atmosphere?

Should someone who is easily frightened but likes First-Person adventures play this, or wait for a sale on a different title?

Unsettling and creepy atmosphere, yes.
But, relax, there are no jump scares.

Imagine Myst, but in an haunted mansion.
