But at night it's a different world.

It's that time of the year again when simply shifting from one leg to the other makes you wanna take a shower and the very thought of going outside inflicts severe sunburn. Replace those unpleasant thoughts with glorious guilt - the guilt of having to stay inside and try the new games you just purchased from our Weekly Sale. Those might include:

Trekking under the burning sun is fine when it's virtual, right? Especially if it comes with the prospect of participating in dozens of really engrossing stories from a land that never was, the land Where The Water Tastes Like Wine.

Few games have managed to capture and evolve the spirit of Dungeon Keeper in the way Dungeons 3 has. Cheeky, devilishly fun, and easy on the eyes, it's the perfect way to spend a few evenings where the sun can't find you. Or your minions.

The Weekly Sale ends August 6th, 10 PM UTC.

eiii: Damn, I'm coming home and the sale price of the Sudden Strike games has doubled...
According to the reviews, the Blitzkrieg series is better. The Steam reviews are pretty negative. I have had them in my wishlist for a long time, and when I saw the low prices in this sale, I almost grabbed them, but decided against it. I also decided if I'm not going to get them at such cheap prices, I'm probably never going to get them at any price, so I removed them from my wishlist. I have the Blitzkrieg series and a lot of other games that have much better reviews.

The only way I would be tempted to buy the Sudden Strike series is if they were bundled with better games.

muntdefems: Hi GOG, I'm still a human being and I thank you for going back to the old format for weekly sales, instead of using partner pages. :)
Well, there was no promotional video that they wanted to embed this time.

MadalinStroe: Was that a pricing error? Because they appear to be 50% off now.
avatar
blotunga: Probably it was. Luckily I nabbed them 75% off.
I also got lucky ?last week?. Prey was 73% off on GreenManGaming, which apparently was a pricing error, that has since been fixed to 49%. Considering this is Bethesda, It will probably never get that low.

Zoidberg: Oh cool, maybe you'll be able to help me: in Pathology / HD, are you able to rebind keys?
avatar
Crisco1492: I haven't started. I want to finish "The Saboteur" and "Trails in the Sky: The Third" before even considering it. Sorry I can't help.
OK, no problem.

If anyone who got it could check that, that'd be nice. Otherwise I'll have to pass.

Yupp. Bethesda's discounts seem to go down instead of up as time goes.

I noticed that recently, most publishers, have started to limit the discounts to 50%. Only their less successful titles ever go cheaper. Bethesda and Koei are some of the bigger publishers that always do that.

What are the other games that have much better reviews? Are any of them available on GOG?

Yes, all available on GOG. My favorite is World In Conflict. There's also the Blitzkrieg series, Codename Panzers series, Men of War series, Close Combat series, Combat Mission series, Faces of War, Ground Control series, Act of War series, Jagged Alliance series, Commandos series, Strategic Command, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, War Game, and probably tons of others I've overlooked.

yogsloth: I just picked it up. For five-and-half-bucks for the Deluxe Edition, I figure it's an investment for when the re-designed game gets here.
I really like how careful they are in making this new overhaul work out, since they are taking into account player feedback for this re-design. This post on steam really shows the passion this developer has in hopefully realizing an even better potential for their already playable game whenever it is ready.

I checked it out, yes you can. I also left a reply on the game sub-forum too if you want to read that too.

Thanks! But I could get further data into the game and I don't think it's forr me... and apparently you cannot have subtitles either, that's a bummer too.

That's quite a long list for me to check. :) Thank you!
Hi!

I have a question: is Scars of Freedom a worthy addition to Hard West?

No problem. Indeed there are no subtitle settings, which can be a turn off for some. At least you did more research to see if the game would be a worthwhile time for you, which in this case it was not.

Yeah, and I shouldn't have to. These should all be information found on the store page.

And that's silly, because sales are lost and I need to torrent the game first to get thiscritical info, that is not normal.
