Update: Your friends from planet Paradox also have your back: The superbe Stellaris and it’s DLCs are up to 75% off, while Surviving Mars has never been so accessible, at up to -40%. Finally, BATTLETECH (-40%) and its DLC Flashpoint (-10%) will give you the shot of intergalactic war you’ve been asking for.

--

Imagine, if you will, that GOG.COM is a big, bad, plutonium-enriched asteroid. Let’s mine the hell out of that spatial body!

Engage your thrusters and head towards our space-inspired mid-week promo to put your galactic hands on some of the best games in the universe! In Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War (-33%) you will fight for planetary dominance, whereas in Star Control: Origins (-50%) your mission is to defend the Earth at all cost! Jump into hyperspace with FTL (-75%) and fight tactical combats in the award-winning Into The Breach (-33%). Feeling like fooling around instead? Then test your engineering skills in Kerbal Space Program (-50%).

The midweek promo ends on April 20th at 10PM UTC.
Are we going to get Warhammer 40000: Mechanicus sometime in the near future? Though it still desperately needs major balance tweaking/improvements before it's worth getting from the sounds of it...
I'm glad Stellaris showed up for folks.

50% off seemed a good enough deal for Star Control Origins, until i found out the base price is 50% higher here on gog. Your loss Stardock, just as with Gal Civ 3.

How is it? The many DLCs rather hold me back. Is the main game fun without them or are they mandatory?

Sorry I don't personally care about the game, I just know it had a few thousand wishlist votes so I'm glad it's here. Best to ask someone else, check out reviews, and/or watch YouTube footage.

if you want my advice, someone who played each and every paradox game, just stay away from paradox.

you don't want to spend 100's of dollars and later realize that their games are all broken, even after all that time. and instead of fixing, they poop more DLC. :/

there are many great space games here on GOG:

Astrox Imperium (new game, quite awesome)
Master of Orion (great audio, music, voice-acting. fun game)
Starpoint Gemini Warlords
The Long Journey Home
Galactic Civilizations III

and there's Endless Space 2. great game, but not available on GOG yet. :(

Ok, that doesn't sound very good. Thanks for the advice.

Oddeus: How is Starpoint Gemini Warlords compared to the X series? Can somebody recommend it?
avatar
falloutttt: I think Starpoint Gemini 2 is more comparable to X series. Starpoint Gemini Warlords is a little different.

Game is wonderful. I absolutely recommend. The only thing i din't like in it is the voice-acting, as i remember. But it's no deal-breaker either. Great game. Check out the gameplay video to see if it's "your thing", if so, jump into it with your eyes closed.

DLC are great too, but you can start with the main game, and get them laters.
Thanks, I grabbed them with all DLCs. The discount was too good to ignore them.

Btw is the game pure strategy and shooting or is there some exploration part? Are there interesting things and secrets to find? No spoilers, please :)

It's mostly just strategy and shooting, yes. But there are some secrets to discover as well. but in the end of the day it is a strategy game after all.

Have fun with it, comrade commander! ;)
Why was the Wing Commander 5, X-Com etc. sale so short? :/
