Pygmalion_4678: It won't do much. Daedalic is a sinking ship.

LinuxFire: This news greatly saddens me, I did not know.
Are financial problems very important?
Unfortunately I only have official sources in German (German game magazines), but Daedalic has had financial problems for a long time. The parent company Bastei Lübbe described Daedalic as unprofitable and sold it. A lot depends on Gollum's success.

---

Furthermore, I consider that Batman Arkham Series must be released on GOG.

Thanks for the answer.
I will not save Deadalic, but I complete my collection this weekend.

If only not all turned around to money, in our world.
Deadalic contributed so much to the history of video games (this is important too).

What did they change on the main site? As far as I can see they just changed the colors because of the release of Outerworlds (which will soon revert back to the original).

Wider, no borders, yes colours too, different descriptions, bigger pics, same with Galaxy site, future options, better website loading, it is all just looks better and more convincing now. Observed that process for last week. Promising.

I just deactivated all my scripts to take a look myself and imo the site still looks terrible as always without the scripts. I have to say that it would have surprised me if GOG finally figured out how to design a good looking and practical website. They botched this since they redesigned the site for the first time and I've given up hope that they'll ever learn. I am happy that there are great scripts available that can fix GOGs "talent". I've almost given up on Galaxy as well since tzhey still did not manage to give this crappy thing that calls itself client the ability to tag or hide games per platform and it's missing many other quality of life features as well.

But that's just my opinion and it seems as if they met at least your taste - so I am happy for you.

I just like when effort is visible, not sure about overall design.

Looks different now, better, maybe I missed some updates on a way, plus every browser and display screen showing it bit different too.
Still discovering Galaxy, Achievements are missing badly, and games from outer worlds.
It could be so much better but its one and only of its kind drm-free shop and multi-platformer app and therefore #1 so why try harder? :D

C0ming back to Daedalic games:
I am getting myself https://www.gog.com/game/holy_potatoes_were_in_space
to commemorate this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-54530361
and waiting for news from Mars and Venus as just watched this lol
Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up (Spoiler)
and this
Possible signs of life on Venus

and that reminds me to get this game in a future https://www.gog.com/game/edna_harvey_harveys_new_eyes

In my case the client is almost useless regarding multi platform functionality since it is still not possible to hide those DRM'd games I now already have on GOG DRM-free. It is possible to do this when I am using different clients but it is not possible on Galaxy - so why should I use Galaxy in the first place? Also Galaxy takes abot 30-40 seconds to start the first time - that's ridiculous. The client is unfinished, unoptimized and it really needs a lot of updates and features ... but we get an update every 4 or 5 months for a client that GOG is advertizing for as if it would be the holy grail. People left and right were afraid GOG would drop DRM-free because of their love to Galaxy. I can't even see their love for Galaxy when it comes to actions. Much talk and no results. And yes, why aren't there achievements for every game? Why do devs state that it is impossible to add achievements for some games on GOG? I'll tell you, because it simply still is not finished. Yet it is forced on every user when he wants to use Galaxy at all. Galaxy 1 also was not perfect but it least it did what it promised.

If you dont own it yet you should also get Edna&Harvey: The Breakout which is Daedalics first game and which is also strongly connected to Harvey's new Eyes.

LinuxFire: I look forward to the arrival on GOG of : A Year of Rain
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/A_Year_of_Rain
Project was cancelled months ago. One of the BIG financial problems.

Daedalic is working on a "Gollum"-game, if that one flops, the studio is history it seems. Sorry.

They lost MILLIONS in the last months/years. The writings were on the wall for a long time.

The project is actually "permanently on hold" and at the time you can still play it.

But they will only get back to it, if they are able to and can fund additional money into it.

Maybe, if "Gollum" makes them a lot of cash, they will return to it and follow up with production, but the financial problems are quite big there and I would strongly suggest not to expect that to happen. Sorry. :(

@topic:
Since the situation at Daedalic is so problematic, I will put them on my "buy first before delisting"-list. Luckily "Iratus" and "... Suicide..." are the only ones, that are still not bought by me yet. Hopefully we do not get another Telltale-Liquidation problem at our hands in the future...

Thanks for sharing that link. I just watched the 'making of' video and that game is true art!

Do you think that some games can disappear from GOG?
But sales licenses are complete, this should not happen.
PS: I understand why the Linux version of "The Suicide of Rachel Foster" is still not coming.
When a studio goes under, all sales contracts end, as the studio does not exist anymore.

See Telltale, we lost ALL games here, as they went bankrupt, some of them reappeared, because they were bought by other studios.

But some of them (the Universal or Minecraft or Marvel licences) will not reapper for sale.

So yes, IF Daedalic vanishes because of financial troubles, we WILL lose the games here. How long? All of them or only part of them? Nobody knows. But I learned my lessons with Telltale. Better be cautious than sorry.

Remember this sale ends a bit earlier — there's only 5 hours left.

Depending where you live, please, note also that dollar becomes stronger. In case of PL prices there's already a gap, which will be closed with the local prices update preceding an upcoming sale (i.e. PL prices will raise). And the news about Daedalic problems mentioned above... It looks like a really good opportunity to pull the trigger, if you're in doubts. Just saying (:
