Up to 80% off your best holiday buddies: Tropico 3, Raiden Legacy, Cultures 1+2, Defender of the Crown, Gobliiins Pack, Dungeons 2, and more!

With the holidays still on, it's easy to get distracted by delicious food and family reunions instead of spending time with your good, bleep-blooping friend. But what if he had some shiny new toys to show you, like these neat games from Kalypso + Cinemaware + DotEmu, for example? And what if he told you these gems are now up to 80% off and you should totally let him have them?

Devious damsels, amoral knights, and a murdered King. England is in disarray and desperately needs a Defender of the Crown to push back the advancing Normans. Your turn-based tactics, swordfighting skills, and jousting prowess will decide if you are the one.

Vikings are renowned for their fierceness in combat, not their ability in building and maintaining settlements on unfamiliar lands. But that's what they'll be doing in the RTS/RPGs Cultures 1+2, in order to tame the Americas or fight the evil Midgard Serpent that threatens to devour Europe.

You've given a cutting-edge space fighter and a mission: destroy MegaCorp's competitors by any means necessary. So hop on your Raptor: Call of the Shadows 2010, buy shiny upgrades, and let the enemy waves have it!

Sift through Kalypso + Cinemaware + DotEmu catalogs for the holiday gifts that your PC has been asking for, going for up to 80% off: Wings! Remastered Edition, Raiden Legacy, Tropico 3 Gold, Dungeons 2, and more!
The promo will last until January 3, 4:59 AM UTC.

Lobuno: The whole Cinemaware Anthology is selling now for 2,49€ at Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/326590/
Yeah but for €3.57 you can buy Defenders of the Crown, Wings and Rocket Ranger here and for that price they don't force those 10 other games on you :p

Defender of the Crown
SDI
The King of Chicago
Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon
Lords of the Rising Sun
Rocket Ranger*
It Came From the Desert
It Came From the Desert II: Antheads
Wings!
TV Sports: Football
TV Sports: Basketball
TV Sports: Baseball
TV Sports: Boxing
Honestly, they need to just arrange for the Anthology to come here. When that situation didn't get fixed the pricing scheme here just became a farce. Not GOG's fault since essentially it was 2 different publishing situations, but at this point they should just put their foot down or something, or at least they could've chosen not to promote them till their current deal for the games expires (which I guess is the most likely scenario for why nothing has changed there yet)

Not interested, not even for free, exept for the old Gobliiins games that I already have. Not the kind of game I need now (Tropico and strategy) or bad ports or rip-offs or both.
I might buy the so and so looking Ishar compilation just to stop thinking about it though. The let's play I have seen were not thrilling.

The Amiga version of Defender of the Crown blew me away with its audiovisuals like no game before or after. But the uglier DOS version is supposed to have superior gameplay.

Robinson's Requiem costs the regular price in the sale.
Can I skip Tropico 1&2 (which I already have but haven't played) and dive right into #3 which obviously looks a lot better in terms of graphics.
Can I skip sequels and play Tropico 1 only? Due to old hardware, tempting price, Linux environment and old games' charm it looks much more interesting for me than newer ones. :)
Has anyone tried that Cultures series? Is it similar to Settlers?

As someone who actually started with T3, I can tell you that it's way more accessible than Tropico 1 and would recommend skipping the first two for this.

It's slooooooooooooooooow. :P

That may be good or bad depending on the mood you're in.

Hmmm, well Settlers is pretty slow-paced too. Did you play Cultures 1, 2, or Northland?

I played one of the Cultures (not sure which) and Northland. TBH I didn't give them much time.
Gobliiins pack may worth your attention for sure. The last discount was 2 years ago ;-)

Tropico 1 is my favorite (haven't played 5 yet), even with less options than its sequels. I have played over 50 hours, but now I can't even touch the game anymore. Unlike Simcity, it's not fun after you mastered it and start winning all the scenarios. But it is a great game, and at this price it can't go wrong.
Nothing for me here - moving on....

But before I do, a desperate plea to GOG to implement an "ignore" flag that you can assign to a game, i.e. the opposite of wishlisted. I am sick to death of checking games out that are on sale to only then remember that I had already dismissed the game in the past as one I never wanted to buy. With the now massive catalog that GOG has there is no way I can remember all of the games I have already dismissed as "never buy".
The funny thing is the two unreleased games have a bigger discount than the promo says.
Both are already 15% off on Pre-Order!
You'll see it if you add them to your cart...
