Up to 80% off The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Leisure Suit Larry and more!

It's Valentine's Day! A time of brief courtly love, candlelight basked dinners, and much-too-expensive bonbonnieres. This weekend's sale on GOG.com is, thusly, all about the loveliest of what gaming has to offer - the pleasures of cooperation, the tension of partnership, the excitement of adventure. DRM-free Valentines await your warm embrace at up to 80% off.

Love is a bond stronger than any, it's an invaluable partnership. You will come to understand the strength of family bonds with Giana Sisters, you'll learn to truly rely on your partners in Trine, or you can test the limits of your friendships with Screencheat. In The Longest Journey you'll experience the warmth of platonic love between a woman and her beaked companion, or you can embark on a road adventure with your loved one in the Runaway series.

But it doesn't all have to be this lovey-dovey. Maybe you'd rather search for a raw, physical kind of love in Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded? Or maybe you just don't buy into any of this crap at all? Maybe it all makes you grit your teeth in frustration, maybe it makes you go Postal? We thought about your needs too, you know. So go ahead, there is that big red button in DEFCON, if that's what makes you happy. Because we love you.

All this, and more, is the DRM-free Valentines promo. Unreal Gold, Gray Matter, To The Moon, Blazblue Calamity Trigger and more, at up to 80% off, are our love letter to you, dear GOGlings.

XOXO
Postal 2, eh? Ah, nothing says "Be my valentine" like pissing on random passersby and then blowing them away with a shotgun using a stray cat for a silencer :-D

You're weird GOG. Fun, but weird ;-)
A Valentine Promo without Hatoful Boyfriend and Redshirt? For shame!

Other than that - nice promo! This sale perfectly symbolizes how love should be: Past its prime, but way cheap!

Chamb: Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that we've listened to your feedback and implemented few changes to the promo page:
-- titles on the left side of the page are clickable
-- details on the right side are less intrusive
-- fixed the bug with page "jumping" to the top when details on the right changed
-- adjusted the way reviews shown on the right side are chosen

Enjoy! And keep the feedback coming. :)
Thank you for fixing those issues and for all the great games!

tinyE: Think I'll make my own Valentine Bundle with titles like Postal, Carmageddon, and Blood. :D
It's that time of the month, huh? ;)

Thanks for bringing back the click-able game list!

Scrolling through the promo page still is jerky though and being able to copy&paste the game prices together with the game list would be nice too. ;)
Alright, the rush appears to have died down, so I'll quote my original post and ask this again and hope for an answer.

gibbeynator: Is Paul Trowe still in charge of Replay Games? I need that Larry remake for my collection, but I can't in good conscience give this man my money.

If his linkedin profile is to be believed, then you should keep those $5 in your pocket.

Thanks. Guess I'll wait for it to show up in a Humble Bundle, that way I can set the sliders so he doesn't get anything.

iangold: Yay, Grey Goo!

Oh, wait, Gray Matter :)

zeffyr: You will fry in hell! Do you want me to have a heart attack?
So sorry! Will be more considerate in the future.

Still, there are lots of qualified Surgeons around at the moment, I believe, if you did happen to have that heart attack.
Ah, the timeless classic that is Jack Keane!

There is nothing that inspires love more than him :)
GOG thanks for listening to our feedback, and thanks for the extremely quick response.

What you've ended up with is a vast improvement over the way it was before. I can quickly put each one of the games I don't have in a separate tab, and then check out the game page. Thank you.

I noticed, on the right hand side of the promo page, that (for the most part) you have the reviews in order of helpfulness. You don't have any 1-star or 2-star reviews, and I can live with that. I guess that's just good marketing; which is why I don't pay any attention to it. I just go to the game page and make my decision whether to buy, or not, based on what I see there.

I pay attention to the user rating, and do not normally watch any of the videos. I go through all of the still shots. If you click anywhere on the screen image, it blows the image up to a really nice size, and it's very easy to click to advance to the next one. Thank you for that. It's way better than when you went to the "... fresher, better GOG.com."

Then I read the description; after I click that annoying "Read more."

I pay particular attention to the reviews. Again that annoying "Read more," and again, and again.... Why do you do that? Is it a tablet or a cell phone thing? Could you have that as an account selectable item? It's very annoying. I am not the first GOGling to complain about that. GOGling, I like the sound of that.

Why are we not getting all the reviews? In "Fist Puncher," on the promo page, Ophelium states "Highly subjective experience." Where's the review?

I would still like to see ALL the reviews sorted in date order (newest first), rating order, inverse rating order, as well as helpfulness.

WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING ALL THE REVIEWS?

Thank you, the page is useable again!

I do not have an issue with you cherry-picking the best GOG reviews for the hover bar, but I think it is essential that non-GOG reviews are marked as such, or removed altogether, if indeed they are being mixed in. GOG customers will place a higher value on the opinion of other GOG customers compared to randoms.

Also, thank you for having an abundance of Mac titles in the promo. We haven't exactly had much to cheer about during the celebrations for the recent big-name sign-ups. But 19 Mac titles out of 29 total? That's pretty damn good!
