Middle Earth is not gonna happen. New Line Cinema had ownership over anything linked to the movies (Middle Earth games released by EA included) and the agreement between EA and New Line expired in 2010. New Line belongs now to Warner, so a new agreement should be reached between Warner and EA and Warner doesn't seem interested to do the same thing that Disney did: to recover everything related of their IP (in Disney's case was whatever Lucas Arts/Films released, or Marvel).

Harry Potter is pretty much in the same situation, Warner owning the rights, while EA was co-publisher and developer. But maybe our legal hunters can make a case and present it to both EA and Warner, as many of the Harry Potter and Middle Earth games are out of print and still sought by many. And maybe, just maybe, both companies will make the sensible thing, just like Disney did, and they will re-release those games that just sit there and are available only to the pirates.
Noctropolis

One of the best PnC adventure games!
the Middle earth games are lost in Licensing Hell.

I would like to see Alice though.Particularly since EA brought out a updated version for release with the sequel game they did.

My own particular want is Sid Miere's Gettysburg and Antietam games.
NHL 94! :D

You are right about the agreement between New Line and EA expiring in 2010; but it has nothing to do with Warners taking over New Line.
New Line has been owned by Time Warner since the mid 1990's. It was a separate studio from Warners brs up until 2009 ,(though owned by the same company) when ,because it was near the point of bankruptcy (they basically threw away all the money they made form the LOTR films on a series fo huge bombs) it lost it's independence and was made a division of Warners studios.
To make matters even more interesting, the rights to Games made based on the books is a separate licence, which is why Sierra brought out "War Of The Ring" in 2002.
Road Rash ........sigh everyone forgets Road Rash
Middle Earth is based on the movies and so it's Shadow of Mordor, so Warner has the rights for the EA's games.

I believe Night Dive actually said they currently have the rights to that and are working on a re-release. (Finding the Facebook post saying that would be tricky though as it was probably last year.)

DreamedArtist: have you ever talked to the guys at compileheart or ghostlight about getting those games like neptunia here on gog?
I haven't... yet. ;)
EA prefers Origin. So highly unlikely that they will release games on gog.
