That is exactly what I meant by inbuilt spam prevention :) If someone wants to write a script to spam the forums, at least make it more challenging for them!

Yep, I was also suspecting it could be solved with one of these two things, but I doubt he ever read the answers to the first spam posts...

That's why GOG needs to automatically limit posting by the same users..

Just for example:
- post thread -> max 5 per hour (do we really need more?)
- post message -> only after other users in each thread (you can still edit your last one!)

Or heck, even if those rules had a rep limit. Would stop most of it.

Most likely there was no purchase. The user account is brand new and this is an alt account of someone having a bit of fun. They are running a script to do this. I don't understand why people are wasting their time reporting all the threads as spam, this is GOG's job. All the time people are spending reporting every single thread can be wasted in an instant. If I was out for "LULZ" and wished to aggravate this community, I would wait until every post has been deleted, switch my IP (which won't be the real one showing for anyone with any form of IT knowledge), create a new account, and then spam bomb again. The person doing this is TRYING to waste people's time and get a laugh by aggravating others, as well as to get a reaction.

I am doing this to get at least the first forum page spam free, since enough spam reports will auto-delete the thread... And it seems like no one from gog is here to do the job...

That's already in effect. If you try to post a new message within 10 minutes after your last one and none other has posted within that interval, it will instead merge your two posts into one.

It would be lovely for one of the more learned people to create a simple anti-spam script, as that is the only way to prevent this sort of thing from occurring repeatedly until the forums are properly coded. I wiped my brain with a magnet and have forgotten the tidbits of programming I learned many years ago.

Edit: and it is due to it being announced that GOG are on holiday today that has me thinking this is an alt account of a certain someone
