Hey GOGers,

Upon developer’s request, we, unfortunately, had to remove Pony Island from our store. We’re sorry that this hadn’t been communicated to you before it happened - sadly, we weren’t able to do it this time around. Our BizDev team is in talks with the developer, and we’ll update you on the situation if there’s any significant changes. Thanks & apologies for the inconvenience!

muntdefems: Interestingly (or ironically) enough, there's still a "gogcom" button on the game's website. :\
It doesn't seem to link to anything though, right? Strange...

DoctorGOGgles: So, where's Pony Island?

https://www.gog.com/game/pony_island redirects to the game catalog. Searching for pony only finds the Bronies movie and my wishlist entry is gone too.

Was the game removed from GOG? Temporarily of permanently?

Maxvorstadt: It`s banned in Switzerland, because of animal rights activists!
That's precisely the reason.

EDIT: Cue the sarcasm.

Shadowstalker16: Did animal rights activists have anything to do with it? re : https://www.gog.com/forum/general/swiss_animal_rights_activists_vs_gog
Just to clarify: No.

Funny or more like...sad?

MaxFulvus: Off topic : What about the Majesco catalogue on GOG after their decision to leave gaming industry ? Any news ? I hope a minimum of communication from you before an eventual removal of their games !
No news, but I can investigate.

MaxFulvus: Yes, please.
As of now, I'm not aware of any plans to remove the games from our catalogue. So there's that. IF it ever were to happen, I'll make sure you guys know well in advance (although please do take into account that in games "well in advance" usually means 24hrs tops:)).

Darvond: and now he's pulling the game because he sees interest had waned on GOG.
avatar
DoctorGOGgles: Maybe interest waned because the game never received any updates on GOG? I would have bought it already, if the dev actually supported the game on GOG and released the same updates here that the Steam version has had for ages...
Pony island has received 4 updates on the following dates:

March 7th 2016
April 1st 2016
May 16 2016
June 29th 2016
I'm afraid we don't have any news at this stage. Sorry!
