I was mistaken -- the one linked in the <i>middle</i> of page 1 was a Google cache retrieval, but I don't know from when. Presumably, much more recently than the Wayback Machine version that plagren linked just a few posts back.

The Wayback Machine capture is from Feb 12, 2016 21:20:19 (i.e. the very next day it was released here), and the Google cache one is from Dec 10, 2016 09:49:27 GMT.


EDIT: There are a few more later snapshots on the Wayback Machine, with the latest being May 11, 2016 when it's still listed as being published by Plug In Digital.

Perhaps it changed after the tweet plagren linked to.

Yup. GOG's menu bar nicely covers the part that says "It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on 10 Dec 2016 09:49:27 GMT."

Yeah, I saw the date of the Archive.org one (could've sworn I mentioned it in my last reply, but obviously not) but I didn't see any immediately way to see the timestamp on the Google retrieval.

So, now you know the window: all you have to do is manually search the update thread in a 10-month period between mid-February and a few days ago. :)

I told AF to do the searching for me, twice now, and still no MaGog report on this. Oh well.

plagren: If I understand correctly, BulkyPix handled the publishing for Pony Island and Plug In Digital were the distributor (both are listed as publishers on PCGW). BulkyPix went bankrupt in August, which would explain the revenue not getting to Mullins. I guess they couldn't sort things out so the game was removed.

Or maybe it was something else, I dunno.
Ah, it's probably related to BulkyPix's bankruptcy then. But I still don't understand why the game is still on Steam and Humble Store, but not GOG...?

I have a TL;DR: as I emailed the dude on it.

Basically...the publisher straight up wasn't paying him, they went bankrupt, and now he's pulling the game because he sees interest had waned on GOG.

That actually sucks for everyone and is really understandable, really.
