GlorFindel: No Starcraft 2, since it's online only and is also on Battle.net App.
Fixed that for you.

Barry_Woodward: "We have no additional announcements at this time."

That's not a no. Diablo II doesn't have the "entanglements" the newer Blizzard releases have.
It might not be a definitive "no", but whenever a company throws out a line like that by giving a side-stepping response, 99.9% of the time it ends up being just that: "no".

Barry_Woodward: No sweat, sell Warcraft Adventures: Lord Of The Clans on GOG and bundle it with Blackthorne.
Now there's a delusional pipedream. Blizzard will never do an official release of Lord of the Clans, as it isn't a complete game and it was cancelled because of quality reasons. And yes, I have played the leaked version through. A good game it is not.

Basing on what I've read in the press back then, it was rather because Blizzard saw such games as Grim Fandango and told that their game seems to be "obsolete" comparing to newest (and upcoming) adventure games, while Blizzard was considering themselves as company releasing only "groundbreaking" titles. Official statements are not always revealing true, but in this case - it's kinda "believable", but on other reason - Blizzard seems to be very focused on "action-oriented" games (Starcraft and Warcraft series were based rather on quick actions and high skill of "actions per second" than strategic thingking, not to mention about Diablo series). An "adventure" game seemed to be not the potential title for mass hit for "mediocre" players, preferring more "action" oriented games.

I played and finished leaked version of Warcraft Adventures, but to be honest I consider it as very decent game - it's true that puzzles are generally relatively easy, but I love animation style, voice cast and the fact that I can see more "in-depth" universe previously presented in Warcraft 1-2*. It's hard to believe that it's the product of the same company which made those weird animations in games like I.M. Meen, CDi-Zelda games. Seems that they've done it right this time.

*Although I really wish I could throw out of my memory sight of dwarven females. Ugh.

Barry_Woodward: Warcraft III: Reforged is $29.99 on Battle.net and includes the original. Assuming Blizzard wants the remake to remain an exclusive to their client for the time being, how would y'all feel if they split the difference and offered just the classic version of Warcraft III: Reign Of Chaos + The Frozen Throne on GOG for $14.99?
yes and yes.
Nobody considers these questions from a development point of view. As in, if Blizzard is already selling and supporting a battle.net version of one of their games, why is it in their interest to let GoG sell a non-battle.net version of said game. In one sense it forces them to support two different versions of the game. In another sense splits their player base away from their platform. The games they've already released here were never integrated into battle.net plus they weren't even selling them so it's an easy decision since you are not interfering with your own business interests.
ok so i was waiting for the classic warcraft 3 games to maybe finally show up one day on gog but turns out that blizzard had released these games for free * five years ago, no battle net account required. incredible.

I've downloaded them and tested them both on windows and on linux. they work great mostly, except the movies. (for linux you need lutris and wine but I think you already know how to do this if you are a linux user)

here are the links for all languages, I really loved the italian version and this link has that version also.

These downloadable installers have been available for more than 10 years already, but the game is not free is any way. When running the installers you’re asked for a game CD-key, the only legit way to get one is by buying the games.

WINE is required, Lutris is not.

ok sorry that may be true, I've not managed to install anything correctly using only wine a few times I've tried that, too many options to set up that I'm not good at, I'm using the lutris premade scripts that configures the installation for you. (I've did that using an original physical CD of the game) I was trying to find a easy way to install the games on windows because I don't have a DVD reader on my notebook and I've found these official backups. mu linux machine has a dvd drive.

I'm glad they are around for years now, last time I've checked warcraft 3 was when there were news about blizzard destroying the classic version by adding on top the new version that was awful or something like that. In fact on metacritic the warcrafdt remake has an abysmal score of 0.6, score that reflected the absolute hate blizzard got because they destroyed the classic version at the time.

I have the cdkeys from disks back in the day, but the most important thing you need to understand that these installers have the drm removed by blizarrd themselves practically saving these games when I was thinking they were lost forever for me. you don't need battle.net account to make it work. they are for all scope and purpose as GOG like games they can be. offline install, backup, no online drm.

And let me ask you something, if you knew about this link, did you posted here on the forum in the past?

It actually went the other way around: these installers were DRM-free from day one, and based on the already DRM-free disc builds of the games. So there has never been any DRM to "remove".

They have been posted several times on GOG forums, for example there is this post from 2021: https://www.gog.com/forum/general_fr/blizzard_un_pro_drmfree/post15

By the way, if you’re playing the game on Linux but do not like using WINE directly, I provide tools to install Warcraft 3 and the original StarCraft on Linux using native packages: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/linux_playit_weekly_news/post1
They work on the installers you linked to.
(support for Diablo 2 is planned too, but for this one the CD-key integration is a bit trickier to handle)

I'd pay full price for a completely offline version of Diablo 3.
I would like to state here that Warcraft 3’s files, which are found in the link posted by reseme, five posts above mine, work mostly well. The only thing needed is the two codes found on your retail copies of Warcraft 3 and its expansion.

The files work “mostly well”, as the only thing that doesn’t work are the videos of the two games. The cutscenes which use the in-game graphics work perfectly, but not the videos with movie-like graphics. I don’t know if that was intentional by Blizzard, to not let the size of the files become considerably bigger, or it’s a thing on my PC alone, but, either way, I watched the videos on youtube as I was playing the game.

Also, there is a bonus campaign, which plays as an action-RPG, not a strategy game, and it presents a new story with a new hero, Rexxar, who is a half-ogre/half-orc.

In any case, thank you is in order to Blizzard, for making the files of the games available digitally to those who had bought the retail copies, and to reseme, for making this known to us. +1

Do you play on Linux or on Windows? I’ve known of this problem for many years on Linux, but if it happens on Windows too it would be interesting to know as it would change the way to approach the search for a workaround.

By the way, no need for YouTube: despite not playing in-game, the campaign intro/outro videos are included in the game files, in a "Movies" directory.

This campaign is actually an early prototype of what was going to become the most famous MMORPG of all times ;)
Diablo 2 - classic version with LOD? Why not!

One of the games from my childhood.

I remember I was so, so at it ... yet I loved it.

Necromancer with 11 skeleton and spear xD Andariel made me cry sooooo bad..

That was my first build. Man..

:O Thank you, I didn't notice that! They are mpq files, and I read they can play with VLC Media Player. +1 to you too.

As for the bonus campaign, it sure had the potential (though very shallow ending. I expected Rexxar to say something more to Thrall...).

Edit: I play in Windows.

Edit 2: Oh! Now I realized you were talking about World of Warcraft. I never played it. As I never played any MMORPG.
