How up to date is that? If its not up to date, then which build of Nethack is it actually on currently?
I'd try to give you some kind of consistent information, but the actual Vulture website (for some forsaken reason) doesn't have a news/updates page, and the Nethack WIki suggests it was last updated in 2015.
Thanks. Guess its abandoned then.
On the other hand, Nethack has been stuck on 3.6.1 for a while.

If you want accesible NetHack that's still being updated with quality of life stuff added, NetHack: Legacy might be the way to go.

I would read this before considering purchase though:

Yeah I saw that on Steam before. Meh, guess i'll just stick with the free version for now lol.

Are there are any other mods that add graphics/sprites etc?

I feel tilesets/graphics and Nethack have gone hand in hand, maybe squirrel around the Wiki for them.
There was also some talk about the Vulture devs not having the rights to all their art and sound assets. I don't know if that's true, but that'd be a good reason to abandon a project like that, especially since the game part isn't their code to begin with. I bought Vulture, played it for maybe 25 minutes, I regretted it, I got a refund. It's low quality software, bordering on scam. It was just one more reason I left Steam behind.

How strange. If the accusations are true, I presume it'll soon vanish from the local repos. It now being based in unity, instead of the previous engne could indeed bear a mass of problems.
FWD: FWD: RE: FWD: It's 12 years bad luck to buy Nethack!

I bought Nethack on Steam and my wife left me and my dog ran away, came back, and ran away again. Now I live in a motel where I pay a weekly rate. If I can prevent just one (1!) person from buying Nethack on Steam, my warning will have been worth it. Please send to 5 friends in the next 30 seconds.

seriously tho I learned the hard way that the devs, who have toiled away for years, don't get paid, and that just isn't cool, imo. Vulture deffffff wasn't worth it, I doubt the other one is worth it.
