Big Deal! Tell me something I don't know:)
I would explain why this is fundamentally wrong but I have to finish this game first.
They totally are, but all addictions are not the same and thus shouldn't be treated as such.

When I quit drinking I replaced it with gaming. Sometimes people give me shit for trading one addiction for another, and I agree, but remind them, I've never been pulled over by a cop and asked if I had been playing Doom that night. I never got into a bar fight because of too much Diablo. I never woke up the next morning with no clue where the hell I was because of Badlur's Gate.
Here's a distinction, games won't kill you if you suddenly try to quit.

True, but like I said, that doesn't necessarily define addiction.

Coffee won't kill you if you suddenly quit.
Neither will gambling.
Actually, now that I think of it, suddenly quitting many of them will keep you alive, like smoking.

As soon as you stop smoking your health immediately begins to improve.*

*this doesn't take into account when, during a nicotine withdrawal induced rage, you tell the leader of the biker gang that he's "a fucking pussy" and needs to "go fuck himself". The resulting ass kicking you get can technically be seen as a result from quitting smoking.

Everything is addictive to someone under the right (wrong?) circumstance. This is just the outcry from some overpaid jackasses trying to make themselves relevant.

Got any sauces?
This is just from the pearl clutching about predatory mircrotransactions and the psychological manipulation in loot boxes. Nothing to see here.

Okay so I just did some checking and it turns out a lot of the games sold here contain MSG, Trans Fats, and Sodium Nitrite.

Oh wait, those are "Additives" not "Addictive".

OOPS
Honestly everything can be addictive but for me a "real addiction" is when you do something against your will.

If you play video games everyday because it's your hobby, it's not a addiction, it's just your favorite way to spend your free time and there is nothing wrong with that...
Buying or playing?

Interesting point, and one that brings up the topic of will power. Something to think about.

Nice post by there. :D

That's a very good question.

Nobody forces an alcoholic to drink booze, it's by free will.

VERY good question.

I have 1004 games here. I think I've played three of them.
