Hi!

i purchased the original blood pc game on cd-rom.
the version is "1.0" and was released april 22 1997.
i know there is a expansion pack called "plasma pak". there are patches for the game on a website
called "dukertcm.com" and there is a patch called pcd11.exe.
can i just patch the game to plasma pak? i reall want to play this expansion on my retro gaming pc with windows 98se
and i´m very thankfull for all the help i can get :)

It's separate commercial release, so that seems unlikely.

Your options look like:
- Buy it second hand and pay the retro price.
- Download it "somewhere".
- Buy the game on GOG and play it on your more modern PC.

The remaster is on a whole new engine, so there's no simple upgrade. Also a lot of work and licensing investment was put into it, so I think they deserve their $5.

If you want to play Blood on a retro PC, surely the original release is fine?

I believe the OP meant he has the old version of classic Blood, and wanted to know how to upgrade to the second version of classic Blood(Plasma Pack)...not the remaster.
pCD11.exe is the official patch for Blood plus the addon Plasma Pak:

https://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/blood-plasma-pak

From the old official Blood FAQ:

"Installing Plasma Pack and patch

The Plasma Pack was shipped with an early version of the 1.11 patch, but not the final 1.11 patch. So, what you need to do, is to apply the pCD11.exe patch, which you can get from our web site, to the Blood Plasma game. The install should go: Install Blood, install Plasma Pack, apply the pCD11.exe patch. This will bring Blood Plasma up to the most recent version. Now, look for a new fifth episode, Post Mortem, to play the Plasma levels."

For a route with the Cryptic Passage add-on:

"Installing Cryptic Passage

Go to our web site and follow the directions in the Patches area to install Cryptic Passage.

Install Blood, version 1.0. Install Cryptic Passage. Cryptic will want to upgrade Blood to version 1.02. Follow the direction to do that. Now, apply the Cryptic Passage patch, CPPATCH.ZIP that you can get from www.sunstormint.com. Then, apply the Blood r0210.exe patch. Finally, apply the Blood r1011.exe patch to bring Blood up to the current version.

Installing Blood Plasma

Install Blood, version 1.0. Install Cryptic Passage. Cryptic will want to upgrade Blood to version 1.02. Follow the direction to do that. Now, apply the Cryptic Passage patch, CPPATCH.ZIP that you can get from www.sunstormint.com. Then, install Blood Plasma. Finally, apply the Blood Plasma pCD11.exe patch to bring Blood up to the current version."

Without any add-ons the patches to 1.11 are:

r1011.exe - Registered v1.10 -> v1.11 patch
r0011.exe - Registered v1.00 -> v1.11 patch

Yup...it was like a thing back then(like with collector's edition names for games made nowadays).

I believe Duke 3D did the same back in the day....regular version, then atomic and plutonium pack.
