Latest update for Timberborn – awesome city-builder simulator with beavers – has landed on GOG! And with our Winter Sale up and running, you can get the game with a -20% discount. The offer lasts until January 2nd, 11 PM UTC.

But how about we look at some of the enhancements provided for our ingenious animals? We think you’ll love it.

One of the main things within the update is a new storage system. Warehouses have been redesigned to work similarly to how many players already used them in the late game. The new system helps you avoid a situation where they get clogged up by an overproduced good and can’t take another. It makes it easier to manage resources across the colony, see what is stored where, and how much room is left for each good. Finally, the updated warehouses add more visual variety and encourage vertical building.

One of the most anticipated features is also here – recyclable buildings. You can now recover materials from buildings you remove. It feels great to see all your colony go up in smoke so go on, give it a try! Just remember that someone will have to clean that mess afterwards.

Golems redesign awaits you as well! Our mechanical versions of beavers are now called bots, with Cogheads being Ironbots and Barrelbots being Timberbots. All of them with redesigned models and animations.

Besides that, you expect tweaks to the Migration tab, built-in screenshot tool, Visual and UI enhancements, miscellaneous updates (with some hidden beaver secrets!) and of course bug fixes!

Jump right into this beaver-filled fun and discover all the cool changes!

I'll definitely be grabbing this... when it's done™. ;)

This and Foundation (well, maybe Songs of Conquest... and Black Skylands, too... and and Everspace 2!) are my most anticipated inDev titles.

Grabbing a beaver every now and then can't be sniffed at (depending on it's freshness), and as long a consent is given...
Disregarding the current Witcher 3 topics, or maybe because of -- here's something wholesome:

Shores of Beaver Bay <Songs description>
"The Shores of Beaver Bay" is a lumberpunk sea shanty recorded together with the Timberborn community! The song was revealed at the Save & Sound festival on July 16, 2022. </Songs description>

An entire topic featuring a beaver, potatoes, and free games! Oh my!

On a semi-related note: If you ever have the opportunity to eat beaver -- would not advise. Beaver meat is not very tasty. :/

Yeah, but just being out of "in dev" status doesn't mean it's done. A lot of games now don't seem to be done upon release, or ever. Like with Spiritfarer, it was "done" when I played it, but they kept adding stuff (actual stuff like more characters, not just bugfixes), and now I kind of regret playing it when I did. Games being "in dev" or not seems like an entirely arbitrary distinction. I guess you have to be OK with whatever state the game happens to be in at the moment, or just keep waiting indefinitely. I mean, I do have games in my backlog that are 10+ years old...those are probably "actually done" by now....
The world needs to be tamed again.
We should leave it to beavers.

Yeah, it seems like the entire industry is designed to encourage everyone to wait several years after release and buy games at a steep discount when they actually work and won't change after you play them. This one I will say is better quality than most released games even in early access. They break save games with the bigger releases which is hopefully quite rare with released games so that is one thing that should change at least. I could imagine them going either way, calling it done once released or continuing to work on it (with additonal factions as DLC and smaller updates to the base game).

I tried the update for a bit last night and like it so far.
