SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL has just received a big update.

The new version of the game is based on highly acclaimed PlayStation 4 edition. New features include multiplayer, achievements support in Galaxy client, tournament mode, and more. The update is free for all game owners.

The updated version of the game is available for Windows only. The original version for Mac and Linux will still be available for download as a bonus goodie.

Important notice: Along with this update, the price of SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL is increasing. Due to this fact, the game is no longer discounted during the Summer Sale Festival.

That the one Epic reportedly tried to have as an exclusive but didn't because the SNK CEO wouldn't bite?

No, this one is just a better version of samurai shodown V. The one you mentioned is a brand new one. Just called Samurai Shodown - but likely considered Samurai Shodown VII.

Am I the only one who doesn't see any bonus goodies?

Also, I really hope SNK adds a proper linux version at a later point, even if as a goodie.

Edit: legacy installers for linux and mac have been added!

Compatability isn't really an issue when the game itself was unplayable in its original form.
