Empire of the Ants is a strategy colony simulator, based on Bernard Werber’s best-seller of the same title. The game offers an experience close to the iconic book series, an immersive adventure where you get to play as the Ant Savior. Your quest is to lead your “people” and rebuild a home, protect them in tactical and strategic battles. Explore, build alliances, prosper and conquer new territories – all in a microscopic world of epic proportions.

With the anticipation for this release growing continuously, Microids and development studio Tower Five have unveiled a new trailers for Empire of the Ants, baffling with its photorealism.

Let’s check them out!
Looks like it's going to give the rig a good workout indeed.
Are you sure this isn't just footage from a nature documentary?

i would buy a pc game that based on the Minuscule series .
Looks great, but man, it also looks like a harsh world where I'll start to feel bad for the insects! That Preying Mantis at the end of the second trailer for instance.

I can mow down human beings in all kinds of games and never think twice about it, but for whatever reason, other creatures don't seem so deserving of such brutality or torture.

Nonetheless, I'm keeping my eye on this one, as I may like it in spite of all that.

No worries, if you played the predecessor (also sold here), you would know the praying mantis is a terminator that WILL NOT DIE, and also a sadist that will kill your ants with no mercy. After a few minutes of that nonsense you will be cheering when it finally falls.

This is shaping to be great, and as a fan of the original I can't wait. I just wish they added multiplayer. I really want to lead my social insects against other people. Old game had Wasps, Bees, Termites, Dwarf ants etc.

This reminds me of an incident as a teenager that gave me an ant-trauma.

We had (and still have) a summer cottage where there is a fireplace. I found a bigger old piece of wood outside that I decided to throw into the fire.

As soon as I did that, an army of ants living inside that piece of wood started fleeing from it, and also started a precise rescue operation for the colony, ie. I saw ants carrying white eggs from within the wood out of it, and going back to get more, not caring for the flames.

Yikes! And it was too late to try to save that piece of wood and colony. Damn I felt bad. It was interesting though how the ants seemed to know exactly what they were supposed to do, ie. protect the eggs and try to move them to safety.
This is just the sort of thing that interests me. I studied ants in my masters degree. Fascinating creatures.

But I will look for independent reviews before buying.
