Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition is now available DRM-free. Get it 20% off until March 5th, 4pm UTC.

Fight alongside or against buddies in Radical Edition’s new local co-op and versus modes. Plop down with a buddy to team up to take down the baddies and save the videogame world. Need to get out some aggression? Lay on the smack down in Battle Mode to show them who’s boss.

The Radical Edition adds ‘90s gaming icons Duke Nukem, Lo Wang from Shadow Warrior, Cosmo from Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure and Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison from Bombshell and the upcoming Ion Maiden. Let Rad catch some Z’s and take one of these mondo classic characters for a spin. Oh, and, hail to the king baby, Jon St. John is back to reprise his role as Duke Nukem. Other totally tubular features include new levels, abilities, mini-games, a new overworld and tons of new secrets, collectables and unlockables.
Why does Cosmo have hands now?
Thanks for the achievement support for this new version, I'm very happy that the THQ Nordic games are starting to add them.

Maybe he grew fingers because it's hard to use a firearm when you have suction cups. :)

I almost thought GoG had got Rad Gravity instead.

I was under the impression 3D Realms had something to do with this game, even more so when this update added so many of their owned IP characters, but apparently I was wrong, since I can't find any mention to them in the game store page, just this "HandyGames" publisher studio which, apparently, is owned by "THQ" Nordic (then again, what studio isn't owned by Nordic, these days?).

Is 3D Realms doing OK? I'm getting seriously worried with a lot of stuff in the video game industry, way too many studios laying off people (even GOG), worrying financial reports, some studios downright closing down... I guess it has always been this way through the years, but at this point in time it seems to be affecting way too many studios -- even big ones -- at once. It's probably nothing, but with such secrecy surrounding everything all the time, who knows for sure?
Thank you.

The explanation for that can be found here: https://3drealms.com/news/thq-acquires-rad-rodgers-ip/

"so many of their owned IP characters"

Well when Mike Nielsen's holding company bought 3D Realms, the Shadow Warrion IP was not included in the acquisition. Scott Miller and George Broussard kept that. They in turn transferred it to an LLC and then later sold it to Devolver Digital(Who had previously licensed the IP for Shadow Warrior 2013). Also 3D Realms sold the Duke IP to Gearbox in 2010. So really only Cosmo and Bombshell are 3D Realms owned characters.

Meanwhile 3D Realms is publishing Ion Maiden by Voidpoint and they are working on an unnannounced Quake 1 engine game(with well known people from the Quake 1 community on their team: https://3drealms.com/team/).That, like the console versions of Ion Maiden, is being published by 1C Company.

The Rad Rodgers development studio also been doing some contract work on some games: http://slipgate-studios.com/
Is it just me, or do the classic controls not work in this latest update? Everytime I try to change my control scheme to the classic formula I just back out of the menu option...
