It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

SirPrimalform: Well no, a better explanation would be because that would stop legit users from having both a DRM-free download AND a Steam key which is something that Humble wants to provide. Your logic is like saying that people who don't put DRM on their games want it to be pirated.

vv221: I was suggesting removing the access to the DRM-free installer only if you use the gifting system, not if you redeem the Steam key on your own account.
Otherwise, I agree, it would not be a smart choice ;)
Ahh, ok.

amok: edit - I think groupees have this system?
Groupees has a similar system, but not exactly the one you described. As long as you haven't revealed the product (which means you neither saw the DRM-free download nor the Steam key, you can gift or trade away the whole product.

But you can still reveal the DRM-free download and yet gift or trade the Steam/Itch.io/Humble/GOG key once you've downloaded the game. In that case you keep the DRM-free version and only the key is gone (which is more or less the same as on Humble).
The way I understand this the answers have been, yes and no. I can technically give away the games on steam and use the , but I'm technically not allowed to. I've also seen no mention of any court cases, so it isn't clearly illegal. Just very unethical.

On a side note, does anyone know how to add an extra solution to these things? The first person actually answered the question, it is technically allowed. But this actually raises an important issue of ethics. So I'd prefer to highlight that as well.
You could do it like Groupees now does.

You get the DRM-free download or the Steam key, and you have to pick for each product. You activate it according to what you want.

Humble doesn't do that - they intentionally let you have both. It's built right into the interface "gift this key to a friend". So be it.
