nightcraw1er.488: Regional pricing and store credit. If you pay £10 and its cheaper somewhere else they will give you store credit back off you purchase
avatar
Wishbone: I just thought this glaring piece of misinformation needed to be corrected, although I'm sure it was not made intentionally. It is not "somewhere else". If the price you pay is more than the US price, GOG makes up the difference to you in store credit. That is all.
It was unintentional, however they refer to us as rest of world, so they can be somewhere else :o)

Smannesman: Fair price is BS anyway

mistermumbles: It's better than getting stiffed as would happen with pretty much any other place.
True dat. I'd like to see Steam try to match GOG for being nice to use gamers!

Smannesman: You still get stiffed, only now they pretend to be nice about it.
You still have to spend it here.
That is a slight ballache, it would be a much neater idea to just directly reduce the start asking price to keep things in line with "regional prices". All this store credit thing does is confuse. And yes, you then have to spend that "saving" here rather than it stay in your pocket!

However, I could think of worse places where that money gets spent..... like this missus using it for another damn bag!

Bookwyrm627: And what should they do if there is no store credit to deduct from?
avatar
Smannesman: Because he spent it already?
Then he is just SOL.
I'd *long* since spent it already. Months long since. What is "SOL" anyway?

Or in this specific case, just end up with a minus valued store credit. No big deal really! :D
Now if he'd said "SooL" - I might have twigged it!
