I've first noticed that Sega wasn't on the bottom of the front page, but after searching for Sonic, nothing came up. The drop down menu still has Sega as a publisher, but none of their games show up at all. Looks like the DRM-free side just lost another one.
Sega does what Ninte--

Wait, that doesn't even work in this situation, nevermind.

And post Boom Sega doesn't surprise me with this move, especially after the massive reorg.
Speaking of, disappearing games, I searched my wishlist to see what I had bookmarked from DotEmu's store.

Dungeon Lords MMXII(gone)
Silverfall(gone)
Silverfall: Earth Awakening(gone)
Loki(gone)
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines(gone a long, long, long time ago)

:(

Shit happens and you just have to deal with it. This is what happens when you go all digital.
I guess that the only place with Steamless downloads of the Mega Drive series is now GamersGate. According to isthereanydeal, the games seem to have been removed on April Fool's day.

Those three, along with all the other games by Focus Home (like the GOG-removed Freedom Force vs the Third Reich), were removed at the end of 2014. Unfortunately, I don't think that there are DRM-Free versions of those games anymore.

Uhm... I bet the physical copies of old Sonic games disappeared from store shelfs a loooooooooooong time ago already ;)
Well the Megadrive Sonics are still available on GamersGate.

I had a look and the MegaDrive collections are also still there, but I think there price might be rising. I thought that they were already £5, but it says that this is with a 72% discount.
Wow, without the Sega games, there's personally no reason to buy any game from DotEmu. GOG and Gamersgate have much better selections.

EDIT: Just checked GG, they have all of those Sega games

I bet they didn't. I have seen gaming stores selling good old mega drive games not more than 5 yrs ago. Difference here is even if it's second hand, those old games still remain in circulation.
I just noticed all the Genesis games seemed to be missing a day or two ago, but I don't visit DotEmu often so I wasn't sure what was going on or when it started. The Genesis tab is still there, but no games show up.

The games come up as unavailable if you search for them directly:

This is, ummm, GamersGate's way of dropping the base price for bundles. On discount periods, I have seen the Mega Drive Collection as little as €1.75.

Strange, as I can see, there still are several games from Focus Home Interactive available on GOG, including SPACE RUN.

Do you know what happened with Freedom Force vs the Third Reich, Silverfall and Loki? Did Focus Home Interactive lose distribution rights, or did they just abandon their efforts because it wasn't worth renewing their deal with the publishers. Now that I think about it, there's also the possibility that the publishers didn't renew their deal with Focus Home.

What I meant to say was that Focus Home removed all their games from DotEmu at the end of 2014. Among the games that were removed was Freedom Force vs the Third Reich, which was removed from GOG back when Nordic left.

Considering the fact that the removed games are still available on Steam and GamersGate, I think that Focus Home didn't think that renewing a deal with DotEmu was particularly profitable.
Huh. So yeah, Sega's Genesis/Mega Drive/Master System games are not available for purchase anymore.

However, as someone who actually bought some of those games as part of their discounted bundles last year, I can say that the games have not been taken from my account.
I don't have the Sonic games, but I picked up the Sega Genesis Classics Pack (this one) and it's totally DRM-free once you download it from Steam. You can move it out of the folder and to a new computer and it works just fine. Are the Sonic games different, or is that "DRM side lost another one" lamenting that there's one fewer place to buy the games from?
