The title is a bit misleading so let me explain.

In the beginning of the game you pretty much right away find all the basic weapons you can use (dagger, mace, axe ect.) I have tried all of them, but for some reason when I equip the axe and turn the attack mode, all I see is my arm as if I am fighting unarmed.

I tried different classes, adding skill points to axe, but still nothing and cannot find anything on the internet about this.

Can anoyone please shine a light on what am I doing wrong?

I guess I can just use the other weapons, but the problem would still bug me.

Thank you.

Strange indeed. I can only think that you accidentally dropped the weapon. All I can say is that the Axe animation is properly shown at least in my last playthrough focusing in axes.

Anyway any data or savegame corruption could be possible. Try to reinstall the game.

Thank you for your reply.

I definitely did not drop the weapon. I can still see it in my inventory (and it's in the correct fighting arm).
Tried reinstall, but to no avail.
Should have mentioned I play it on Mac (I know, but it's the only option for me for now), though I don't think that could be the reason for the bug.

Thank you anyway. Will call it a day.

Sorry for not being helpful enough. Well, My last advice would be that you check if you have your weapon wielded with the correct hand. I know I is is a bit stupid, something you are probably aware of yet, because you say that your other weapons do work correctly. Another idea could be that the weapon is broken or too damaged. But I do not remember the exact consecuences about it.

This is probably not it, but I had a similar experience with an older game... I think it was SSI's Thunderstone, where I would start fighting a monster and it would turn invisible! But it was still there, hitting me, and it's not an invisible monster!

What had happened was... the game was looking for the monster "animations" to be copied off the CD (or DVD) drive into a local folder with all the other animations, and I had not copied everything. So as someone else alluded to, maybe you're just missing the animation of the "axe in your arm"?

See if copying all the CD/DVD contents to your harddrive might help. Of course, make sure you put everything where it belongs.

Ok, finally figured out. As you said, the axe is broken so I cannot use it. I thought it may be less effective or something.
Jesus I should've figure this out.
Thank you again!

Sorry for the bother. I figured out. The axe is broken so I cannot use it and my stupid brain couldn't figure out something as obvious as this.
Thank you nonetheless!
