Radiance1979: no no no no, don't say to someone....... that bioware games are playable if that person has 120 hours in mass effect andromeda never managed to finish it and no it was not because of the difficulty level that i did not finish ..... it did seem my r5 2600 m.2 drives combination was either to weak or to modern what caused all of the bugs... now i'm back with intel but now i lack the drive to play the game again :-|
dragon age inquisition on the other hand is the perfect example of one of their games released in their midlife crisis, not to mention Antem, but in all fairness i don't understand what exactly went wrong in Anthem, you have the whole nice 4 player strike team going on, 4 different javelins, the fighting is on the same level and sometimes somewhat better then you can find in Destiny 2.... maybe it just really was to small in imagination for the smaller minded? still in the end i poured about the same amount of time in both games
FatalTorment: Then we both have a different definition for Bioware's midlifecrisis, because I would say that already started with Knights of the old republic and Mass Effect 2. Probably even with Neverwinter.
The Bioware we once knew does not exist anymore as its either destroyed by greed and/or Electronic Arts.
Some old members tried to make some kind of monster hunter ripoff after they left the company.
Its pretty sad they never released a second Jade Empire. I suspect a smaller division of Bioware did the job on that.
Now the license belongs to someone else of course.
Basically all that stuff is decaying now.
Spoiler Alert: Their old games are still enjoyable. Even the ones where you already can tell there is a change of gameplay in favor of a more popular formula.
I did enjoy Anthem for what its worth, though a bit small on the offer the story missions and the wacky interactions where quite enjoyable but yea....
it is almost like your game taste and expectancy evolved but the companies, after a certain point did not grow to meet those expectancies instead aiming on the ever growing younger gamers console market
thank god that Slitherine does a lot of good on the strategic/tactic plane not to mention the occasional indie developer with a great idea
and maybe CDR will keep shining for the coming years so i can delve into their offer in a good way since i've passed on the witcher's adventures but felt compelled to try those after watching the first season of the show
but yea Bioware, 3 medical tech superminds with a taste for glory..... all hail their names
