Prepare to be royally rogered by Nintendo when they hear about it.
Hello nightcraw1er

Copyright
Many people ask us about Twilight Rising may have future problems with Nintendo, and the answer is no.
The sprites used in-game are all without copyright from internet, nothing original from Nintendo perhaps one or another song that we are working to remove, Zelda, Link and any other Nintendo name does not belong to the game.

Lawsuit
As some know we live and work in Brazil copyright laws from any other country do not apply here. It is important to say that Nintendo Company has no representatives in Brazil anymore.

Edit: Also Twilight Rising has been approved in Steam we will release steam version soon.

All I can say is that we shall see. Nintendo are very well known for jumping on anything even remotely linked to their IP, and the defence of "your ip laws don't apply to us in Brazil" is nonsense, unless your restricting your game to be only Brazil, and even then it's likely that N will have some recourse.
Thats ok, let the show begins, thank you all gog users! see ya in Twilight Rising.

Not sure if slim, but defiantely shady:P

I'd be cool with it if it was a free fangame, but a full on comercial product that totally rips off another franchise? That's some shaky ground right there. And the "it's cool you guys, we're from Brazil and we can rip-off anyone here" attitude only makes it worse. I sure hope this puts enough of an original spin on the whole thing to justify it's existence.
Hey Breja!

Twilight Rising will be released for free starting 21th January, we just charge early access for help the development and pay our server. Thanks anyway.

EDIT: Why you say totally rip-off? have you played? TWR is not a fangame its a "BASED" game from Zelda there's a big difference there.

As far as I am concerned -- go go go! I don't believe ideas (including monsters, weapons, buildings, people, other characters, worlds, universes..) should be copyrightable. So if the sprites and other concrete content & artwork are original (whether based on ideas or characters designed by others or not), it's all good for me. Anyone can make a painting (or photo) of the NYC skyline too, and sell it, even though they didn't design and don't own the buildings.

Anyone can make a claim, that doesn't mean it would hold up in court. This is just copyright trolling until there's a case.

The sad thing is that most individuals & small businesses can't afford to do the right thing. What a fucked up legal system we live in. And here and elsewhere, the brainwashed masses would rather jump to defend the big guys...

Nobody is defending the big guys, or the blatently broken copyright laws. What we are saying is that copyright laws are present, and time and time again they have been aggressively enforced. A particularly aggressive proponent t of this is Nintendo who have blacks ops lawyer squads roaming around the countryside looking for anything remotely like their IP.
