So, Origin has this 50% off sale going on. So, I thought I would purchase cheap copies of the expansion passes to these big ol' RPGs - since they are DRM-free on Origin, I thought they must be GOG copies. Perhaps I am wrong on that point.

In any case, I cannot purchase the DLC on Origin without owning the game. Even though I have added the game via their "add a non-Origin game" funciton. There it is in my library on Origin. But when I push the button to purchase the DLC it says "first you must buy TW3."

Oh, well. I will keep waiting patiently for the price to go down.
...Right, unless something explicitly says it is a GOG key, it's not.

I don't see DRM-free on POE Expansion Pass on Origin.

On the Witcher 3's pass, I see the text, but someone else would have to tell you what that functionally means... if anything. I would expect it is erroneous or semi-erroneous as the game is protected by Origin DRM one would imagine. Or not: The Witcher 3 on Origin also has the DRM-free text, so maybe it is so. The GOG page says "The boxed PC version of the game is compatible only with the Expansion Pass sold on GOG.com" https://www.gog.com/game/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_expansion_pass You can buy a GOG key for the Pass from other online retailers, though.
