yyahoo: Hard to say. Night Dive is calling these "re-mastered for today's modern computers with enhanced graphics and other improvements".

jamyskis: Which is probably distributor speak for "repackaged with nGlide because the Direct3D renderer won't work on modern hardware".
"We have the source code and have pretty much re-written the game. We are building a level editor in house so we can make some changes/fixes to the original design - but we're thinking about releasing it through Steam Workshop so people can build their own levels." - ND

That's what GOG would generally do. I think Night Dive has more time to make more significant improvements, such as what Barry posted above me.

Whilst an interesting idea that they are rewriting the game.
It does make one wonder quite what changes they may intend to make to the game as a whole. Will it just be better graphics, level design and bug fixes, or, do they intend to remake the levels, story or even the whole game "better".

Smannesman: Only if you're very nostalgic about them.. oh...
The second one isn't awful though.
Turok was more about the interesting weapons in the game. Killing floor reminds me of a few of them like the zed gun vs pulse rifle, flamethrowers that shoots streams and the seal squeal launcher vs the tek bow etc.

Turok 2 had some great levels and gore for the time.I think it was the first fps game to have a flashbang and taser type weapons but I could be wrong.

This.

The Cerebral Bore weapon was awesome, only drawback was that it didn't work on every enemy. Years later I finally watched the Phantasm movies which i'm guessing is what inspired the weapon.

I wasn't sure which thread on the subject to bump (this or this), but here are some screenshots from the remaster:

The original Turok games were a lot of fun, such great, OOT weaponry. It's a shame the PC versions have inferior music to the N64 though.

Still, if these come here I'll gladly be up for another round of cerebral boreing.

Another weapon is like the disc from Predator 2 at the gary busey part.
I remember these on N64. It would be pretty cool if they came to GOG, however; I am not sure how well they have aged.

Ah that's right, I forgot about that one being in Turok 2.
