No really, I am!

It was defiantly originally shareware but later got a full release, I'm pretty sure it was early Windows but there's a slight possibility it might have actually been Amiga

It was a platformer with a choice of 3 characters - one was based on Bruce Campbell as Ash from Evil Dead, one was Arnie (as The Terminator?), not so sure about the 3rd - may have been Sly Stallone or Bruce Willis, all as caricatures for copyright reasons, I have a feeling that they weren't all 'unlocked' in the shareware version I played

But that's not even the most memorable part - the thing that really sticks in my head is that you were saving dudes who were strapped to pyres and a stray shot would ignite them but instead of screaming in pain they just sadly said "Oh no - I'm on fire!" in a really morose way

It was more funny than fun - other than the genuinely LOL moments (that then got repeated to death) and the famous caricatures it was a bit generic

Someone must know what I'm on about - right?

Seriously? No-one?
I would have though this thing was pretty memorable, maybe the name is pretty generic or something?
Can someone at least let me know if they remember this thing at all even if they don't remember the name - I didn't dream it, I swear!

Saw your original post. Sorry, doesn't ring a bell... can you remember anything else about it?

RWarehall: Broforce?

Nah this was defiantly a game from 10-15 years ago at least, cheers though, that thing looks interesting
Two threads about it and nobody can find this?

I usually consider myself fairly knowledgeable in shareware games, but I have no idea. I still have a few windows shareware compilation CDs, so I'll do a little digging and see what I can turn up.
Edit: My CDs are for Win95, so I think they might be a little too old.

I doubt it's the one you are looking for, but your description reminded me of the old Amiga Racer Nitro. Just look at this picture!

Whao - the characters in that sound just the same but I don't remember blocks and puzzles and committing suicide so much, I'm surprised he doesn't remember 'Oh no I'm on FIre' (I THINK it was 'Oh no' anyway I'm starting to wonder if it was 'Oh Bugger' or 'Oh Bloody hell' - it... it was quite a British humour kind of game) - maybe his was a sequel?

I think the pyres that the guys you were supposed to rescue were different on different levels - one level was spit roasting over a pit, another was those vertical heater thingies kebab meat 'elephant legs' spend all day in front of (which is probably quite a British thing too, via Turkey)

Well, thanks all anyway - I'll necro the thread if I ever work it out...
