HunchBluntley: Generally speaking, games that old are not maintained or updated by the original development studio, even if that studio is still around in some form. With any game from the '80s or '90s, it's usually GOG doing the work to get it running on current OSes. (The obvious main exception being when an old game is "remastered" by a team including some of the people who were involved in its original creation.)
Agreed but someone connected with the old company or whoever now owns the rights to it had to be contacted for it to show up here on GoG.

Gangsters: Organized Crime is published here by Square Enix. But publishers don't typically make alterations to games this old that they did not themselves develop, especially when someone else (like GOG) is willing and (more or less) able to do so.
