Perhaps it's the game I'm trying to record, because it's an old game now supported by GOG but I am having a hard time with recording...

I am trying to record Titanic: Adventure Out of Time to be played on my laptop. I have tried programs like OBS, Bandicam, and Gamebar.

Bandicam and OBS record but when I go to watch the video the game is 1/4th the size.

I have tried recording in game mode and even have my hotkey set up with Bandicam but it doesn't work. Doesn't record, and when I just try to record by pressing the record button it won't let me because the gaming screen isn't selected.

OBS only shows a black screen when I record in gaming mode.

Gamebar is my best bet so far but there is a weird echoing sound in the game.

Any help would be lovely!
Are you using ScummVM or something?

It sounds like you're capturing the game's actual resoltion instead of what you're seeing.

I don't know if this will actually help, but maybe have a look at this OBS guide series.

OK so what seems to be happening is I am recording seeing my regular resolution 1152X864 when I play since I play full screen. However when done recording it records as 640X480 which is the game resolution.

I have no idea if there is a way to bypass this. I've seen other recordings of this game, and the resolution always looks fine to me.
Hmmm to explain a bit better... Here is how I see the game when I play.

However when I record with OBS or Bandicam using the screen capture mode, here is how it records.
