I was going to buy Beyond Good & Evil on sale normally. but i got that "log in with bank to confirm purchase"
thing.
i go through the motions and give the correct info every time - but on GoG galaxy, hitting log-in doesn't do anything;
- Doing the same on browser reveals an error sayign "something went wrong. please try again later".
i check my bank & may paypal, and there's nothing to indicate anything is wrong (as far as i could tell).

What could be the issue? Should i just wait a little, or dig deeper?

Tried disabling your adblockers temporarily?

Unfortunately, i don't really have any adblockers active/installed.
It could be just a glitch with gog itself. but idk.

- that said, i do have pending stuff in my bank from previous g.o.g. purchases,
could that be a factor? or not really?

That's not a question I could answer. Ideally you'd contact your bank/CC company and see if there was any problems on their end. GOG support response is terribly slow, so you'd try them last.
Someone else had the a similar problem and solved it:

Something about a "noscript plugin".
Oh i almost forgot.
The "Yodlee" thing. Is that legit, or should i be weary of it?

When attempting to purchase Beyond Good & Evil, I'm greeted with a login prompt "Login to use your bank to pay",

which read:
"Now and then, a payment needs to be checked before it goes through. We use Yodlee to confirm your bank details and to check your balance and transactions as needed. It’s part of how we manage risk and fraud and it helps you avoid declines." ~ with the "agree and log in" promt accordingly. (this isn't a random pop-up, this is gog galaxy's checkout).

What makes it bizarre to me, (even with that "now and then") is I've already bought 4 games before this with paypal,
and it's gone straight through with no fuss, so im a little suspicious.
Maybe i've bought up games too fast and it thinks something is up? ~ but that probably sounds silly.

I missed that initially. Do you always use galaxy to buy? Try purchasing just using a browser login and see if you can get the payment through.

Yes. Since there shouldn't be any "pending stuff" in the first place.
Either your payment went through - or it didn't.

If it went through, you (usually) should not face any problems with a new payment.
And if it didn't get through - I would try and find out what went wrong here (you'd have to ask your bank for that, ofc.)

Edit: according to your account, you own five (5) games here.
And since you said in another comment, that you previously have already successfully bought four (4) games here (quote: "I've already bought 4 games before this with paypal"), I assume your problem is solved by now?

Try to use another browser or make your purchase through your phone to see if that work.

A pending status means that the purchase has not processed by the payment method you used and that the merchant (in this case, GOG) has not been paid. Per the Internet, a pending transaction should be cleared within 3-5 business days. I would contact whoever you used to make the payment (paypal, bank) to find out what the deal is if it has been more than this.

You can try using a different credit card if you have one. However it may result in the same problem that you're having now in that the purchase won't go through due to prior purchases that still have a pending status.

Oh that 5th one (the witcher) was gifted for free.

also no, both galaxy & browser have led to the same result. i might try mobile.
If that doesn't work. i'll just have to suck it up & be patient i guess. sale be damned.
