So I just got a LG G3 Android phone because A) I am afraid my old Note 2 is about to fail and B) It has a decent amount of internal storage. Now my problem is that I want to transfer data from the Note 2 to the G3 as painlessly as possible. I had to do a lot of Googling and try a bunch of apps to the my text messages transferred over but eventually I got that to work. But what about the rest?

Like call logs and pictures and videos? How do I transfer that over? I should note that I am not willing to root a brand new phone and that Google is unwilling to sell apps to me so any app will have to be free. This means that for example "MyBackup" won't do since I can't buy "MyBackup Pro".

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

That is brilliant, thank very very very much! :)
To transfer data from a Note 2 to a G3, first connect both of them to the same computer via usb cable. Here, you can use Samsung Kies, Samsung Smart Switch or Coolmuster Mobile Transfer to do data transfer between them. About the details, you can check online.
I'd have probably downloaded the data to a microSD card and moved it over; mind you some data might move to different directories to be happy, but otherwise...

But that's more for music/videos/ringtone/other, not phonebook or other details.

Back in the dark ages of 2015, we didn't have no microSD cards. We had to use rocks and tap them out in Morse code. :)
