Changing the tempo.

Tower of Time, a tactical RPG perfect for slaying time, just received a big update. It's also 50% off until January 30th, 11pm UTC.

The update introduces two additional modes: RPGlite and Permadeath. These are designed to make the game more of a fast-paced dungeon-crawling experience, great for people who want to skip the RPG-heavy bits and get right to the action. All heroes are accessible right off the bat, crafting options are open, and the dungeons beckon!
Though it's just an game update it deserve to be on forum :)

Linux version has not been updated yet.
I think this is an example of what makes GOG special for developers... on Steam, this sort of update would've slipped right past me and would never know it got updated, so I'm glad to see GOG highlighting what's really a substantial update to the game... love this game and this update proves to make it even better

Alright, so I really like this game, but found it a bit too RPG heavy (too much menu browsing).

However, I don't see how opening all features right away makes it less RPG heavy?
I join those who recommend this game, it's worth all the money spent, really remarkable.
Better than Baldur's Gate, better than Neverwinter Nights, better than Icewind Dale, better than Pillars of Eternity, better than Tyranny, Better than Dragon Age Origins and so on, yup i really like this game and hope it gets a sequel.

already had the game but didnt dare to start it yet as i couldnt afford to commit for the required 50ish horus of gameplay in a heavy story tactical rpg game at the time

so basically you are hinting that this update would allow me to play this as a simple dungeon crawler with tactical rpg elements and not bother about the story right now (thus not spoiling said story for further playthrough) ?

if that's what it is about, it sounds brilliant and very welcome game mode for me, so i would be able to taste it faster than i expected
Hopefully a DEV sees this, because I am in absolute awe of this game. The story, the graphics, the gameplay.... everything is stunning. I haven't been this excited to play a game in years.

This is worth every single penny and moment of your life... the complexity is of the players own design and the story is there to be found at the players discretion... I love this beyond words.

If you were on the fence, take it from a guy that is not impressed by anything... This is something special and something that needs to be experienced, the game is what you want of it and its so well done <3
