Do you guys plan on adding Torchlight games in GOG Connect? I see the game in reclaim page but Steam does not give key when purchased

I own Torchlight games on Steam, my question was if they will add them to GOG Connect, since it's already in 'Reclaim Games' page.

I don't think those two ("GOG reclaim" and "GOG Connect") are really connected in that way.

The Reclaim option is for a few games if you have a physical retail copy of it (like the Torchlight games), while GOG Connect is a time-limited option for some Steam games which are never announced beforehand (so that people wouldn't tactically buy them from Steam instead, knowing that they would then get the GOG version as well later).

GOG Connect is like a box of chocolates, you never know etc.

You'd have better luck asking Runic Games this question, as GOG will never reveal any upcoming Connect deals.
high rated
edit: some corrections. Apparently you get a code only if you bought the game directly from Runic (or, presumably, as a physical product) and the key can be redeemed on Steam only if you bought it from Runic before 2 Feb 2015. If you have a code it should work on GOG but if not... well, MaxFulvus has contacted Runic's support about that and will let us know what happens next.

I don't think it will every be on Connect because you can already get it on Reclaim Your Games. That's similar to Connect except that it's a permanent offer, whereas Connect offers are time-limited. Thank you for making this thread though - I was able to claim the game for myself because of it (I didn't even know it had been added to the Reclaim page until seeing the replies here)

There are many different ways to buy their games, each with their own different benefits. You could:
- Buy a physical DVD from a shop so that you can play it without ever needing to touch the Internet at all
- Buy and download the game directly from their website
- Get the game on Steam, and use Steam to download, play and update it
- Buy the game on GOG and use the downloadable installer or Galaxy

Runic games has a really nice attitude toward its customers. Instead of making you pick one option and commit to it, they instead let you buy it in any one way yet own it on on all of the above sources.

All of this is handled from their website. You say you own Torchlight II on Steam? In that case go to the account manager on the Runic Games website, log in if you already have an account there or create a new account if you don't, and link your Steam account. The website will scan your Steam account and notice that you already own Torchlight II, and so add it to your Runic Games account. Then you can click on the big My Products & Keys button to access your product key (as well as a downloadable installer, in case you want to download the game directly without Steam).

That product key will magically work on GOG's redeem page

Before I go writing to Runic Games, all I'm seeing on that page is "My Products" and under it "Torchlight II - Linked via Steam". Clicking on it looks like it should do something but doesn't. Am I missing something there?
Wow, I didn't know that.
Thank you for info!!!
I will see if some would be willing to trade their product key with me.

Hmm... maybe it's different if it starts out on Steam. I bought it directly through their website and it shows me a key. Unless someone else has a suggestion writing to Runic's support would be the best idea.

Yeah, I can't see any keycode on mine either, but at least I could download a copy straight from the site.

Anyhow, thanks for the heads up Barefoot_Monkey!

Even if you link Steam account with Runic account, it's still doesn't show you the product key. Someone should ask Runic Games about this.

I did it this morning, because I have Torchlight II on Steam too and I followed the steps described by Barefoot_Monkey. No product key. I will copy paste my answer here (if Runic Games answers me !).
A serial key for Torchlight II used to be provided when the game required it for multiplayer. Since it longer needs it, Runic doesn't issue one.
