The kind where if you're trained properly, your left index finger comes naturally to rest on the "F" key. Middle finger on the "D" key.

Go ahead, try it.

Then hit the "W" key with your middle finger.

Those of you that are not "Southpaws" have tiny hands and all the curses affiliated.

Hesusio: I've always used my middle finger for the W, but thinking about it, the ring finger makes a hell of a lot more sense. It would allow the pinky to actually be useful, and the index finger could be on permanent hotkey duty. It's a shame overriding decades of muscle memory is such a difficult thing.
But how would you access the number keys for indiviual weapons? (if at all)

HA! 1993-me begs to differ. I slew him just fine. Shaking in terror the first time, I don't mind admitting.

After rebinding "A" to strafe left and "F" to strafe right. "W" (that's with my ring finger, folks) for forward and "S" for backward (also with the ringfinger). Mouse to turn and fire.

That's still my FPS rebind to this day.

My middle finger just sort of hangs out and chills most of the time.

I'm not sure how that would impede number key access. Either way, you have to take a finger off wasd in order to use them.
