Oh, I know who he is. :P I'm a baseball fanatic.
I also know what he's dedicated himself to since retirement. He may be one of the best pitchers in baseball history but the guy is a bigoted slime off the field.

I can't believe anyone would publish a game by him.

However I don't want to derail the thread so maybe this isn't the place. I'm just surprised is all.

Yeah, he's an MMO fanatic. Financing this game $50 mill his own money plus loan from local govt. I know him cause he's so good at High Heat baseball with Randy Johnson at DBacks.

Remastered edition soon? But what pun would they use?

Amaluremastered Edition?
Picked up the PS3 version of this recently and it's much better than when I first tried it. Admit-tingly many parts of the open world areas are kinda barren but overall I really enjoyed it, I must have let the stuff happening around the game colour my perceptions a bit. Three trophies away from platinum.
1300+ votes? Sure, bring it.
The special ability mechanic makes parts of it imbalanced (OP when it's active, a few spots are tight if it's not).

Some of the quests start to feel repetitive - though you can max your level doing only a small fraction of the many, many side quests.

On the whole I really liked it despite its flaws.

KOA finally free from all that legal entangling?! Sure. The game was pretty good, but its crafting system was its forte. Maybe now we will have an edition that would have the pre-order bonuses, too.

What pre-order bonuses are you referring to? From my memories, didn't it just include a Mass Effect armor set, and other items that you out-leveled several hours into the game?
The game was overall cool, but the inventory and the story a bit confused and diluted made the all journey a bit of a drag, at some point.

Can't remember the craft system at all...
Pre-order stuff:

1. The Fate-Touched Weapons Pack:

This pack includes a weapon of each type available in the game, each of which increases the XP gained in Reckoning Mode

2. The Destinies Choice Pack:

This pack includes the Compass of Fate, the Harbinger Twists of Fate card, and 3 sets of armor.

Available only through GameStop and Play.com

3. The Ultimate Treasure Hunter Pack

This pack includes the Dowsing Rod.

Available only through Amazon.com

The Fate Card was actually useful for a good part of the game. The Dowsing Rod provided a good way to find easily the herbs. The Compass of Fate was giving +1 to Persuasion, allowing to put 1 skill point somewhere else.

Promotional stuff:

1. Any new copy of the game includes the "EA Online Pass" which unlocks 7 additional quests of the House of Valor faction and Shepard's Armor Set.

2. Playing the Reckoning Demo unlocks the "Confident" Twists of Fate card, the Infernal Helm, and the Twinned Souls Chakram.

3. Playing the Mass Effect 3 Demo unlocks the Omniblade Daggers inspired by the newly weaponized Omni-Tool. Note: Playing Mass Effect 3 prior to playing Kingdom of Amalur will have the same effect.

So...pretty much those. The promotional stuff is only partly available (House of Valor). As EA pulled the demos for KOA and ME3, you can't get the rewards for those. If you've managed to get the demos before their removal and you did not played them, you can't get the items anymore, as the activation servers for those are gone.

So while some items may or may not be useful, some are actually useful for some time (Dowsing Rod can be with you until the end, as it will save your time when hunting for the reagents).

Those are mentioned in the Amalur wikia, along with the story DLC's (Legend of Dead Kel and Teeth of Naros) and the Weapon and Armor Bundle

Great news! I really enjoyed KoA for the most part. Sure parts of what it was planned to be had been truncated, but the base is there to build on and it was still fun. Let's hope THQ Nordic does some great things with it and that we'll see it here on GOG. Voted! :)
Not sure if I'd buy it again (still have it on Console), it was pretty fun for a while but outside of the Main-story it got boring after the first few big side-stories.

I would be happy about a sequal with better done side-content though, not sure if that's a possibility in the future though (My knowledge about the licensing stuff is rather limited).
