Mixcoatli: I think this is one of those games you have to play with a controller, like Dark Souls PtE.
See, that's the thing. I usually have no issues playing on kb + m the games the majority would mark as controller only. So it's more a matter of whether the games are actually playable, as in, all the necessary inputs are doable on a keyboard, or if you are going to completely miss out on some functionality.

Thanks. This fills me with a bit of confidence, as I have no issues playing games on keyboard only when suitable. Still do, like most 2D platformers or old-school FPS games like Doom, Duke, Blood etc.

What do you do if a game uses an trigger input, such as the throttle in a racing game; just feather the input and hope for the best, or avoid them?

Not sure if that's what you mean (I'm basically illiterate with controllers and don't know the terminology that well), but if you just mean acceleration/braking in racing games, the thing I've always been doing. Tapping the throttle key (usually up arrow) as necessary to achieve the desired result (same for braking with down arrow). Outside of turns, you can usually just hold throttle and keep repeatedly releasing it as necessary to maintain control and/or add brakes.

Been doing that in racing games forever, you can get a feel for it. That being said, I only really play arcade racing games, no simulations and such.

Really very pissed off with this and the fact that GOG is asking for donations. This game immediately crashes for anyone with a display higher than 1080p.

So, the fix on STEAM does work. Simply get the hex editor and edit the values as indicated, then immediately set resolution via config.ini or game will crash in settings.

Now, I have the game running with G-sync max settings 4k 100fps.

There are some odd peculiarities with the settings however. It allows you to choose the refresh rate, but will always default to half of native refresh (ex.240hz monitor will default to 120Hz when selecting anything lower regardless of selection) Thus, if you don't want 500fps, you need to cap via the driver.

Again..so fuckin' pissed. No so much that I had to fix it myself, but more so that GOG started asking for donations for their efforts. What fuckin' effort? Pay me instead because I just fixed and tested my own shit....as usual.

idbeholdME: Any word on how keyboard and mouse controls are for the first three games? If it's unsalvagably bad, i'll probably just skip the series.
No mouse support at all, keyboard only. Combined with fixed (DMC1) or mostly fixed (DMC3) camera angles, calling keyboard controls suboptimal would be an understatement, but there are some people who play it this way. For me, DMC1 and 3 are some of the few games that I play with a controller (and I play fighting games with a keyboard).
Now, there are games in the franchise that actually play well with M&K, but they are not available here (not yet at least). Those would be DmC (the controversial reboot, which was quite fun actually, contrary to what reading comments on the internet would make you believe) and DMC5.

You're welcome, mate.
Let me know somehow if you end up buying it and how do you feel about playing the games with keyboard only.

Will probably be a while before I get to it, but will bookmark this thread for later.

Nah, you can definitely play the game with a kb + m. For me it was just a personal preference, using a controller felt better. IIRC 4 (it's been years since I played this just a heads up) doesn't have contextual controls or inputs so you should be fine. Sort of like playing MGRR with a keyboard, doable but "felt" better with a controller.
