This is what I see when I open the sale for The Witcher games. It's rather confusing, aren't the DLCs included in the Expansion Pass, and the base game and the DLCs in the GotY edition? Such a selection seems redundant. Am I missing something?

Yes, some people just have the base game (without (all) DLC or season pass) and not the GOTY edition.

You can get W3 GOTY, the complete package, you can get only the base game, you can get both DLCs through Expansion Pass or you may want to get only one of DLCs. And since all of those options are available and are on sale, they're listed there. You can always read descriptions on product pages when you're not sure.
Not exactly what I was asking about. As I sad, "This is what I see when I open the sale for The Witcher games." and "Such a selection seems redundant." I was wondering if the system selecting for me the base game, both DLCs, the Expansion Pass, and the GotY edition was just a quirk of how it works, or if I would actually gain something by making such a purchase, other than two copies of the base game and three copies of both DLCs. Would I even be able to gift someone the excess games?

It's not personalized, "the system" didn't select anything for you. You are shown exactly the same thing everybody else sees.

You're incorrect. The system automatically selects all games one doesn't own. So it is personalized, and definitely not everybody sees the same selection.

Everybody gets the same games in the same sale.

Everybody sees the exact same layout (minus the games you already own, of course). As for the layout it's always been like that. You just have to choose the GOTY edition of W3 in order to get the game + all DLCs. If you're not careful you'll buy the GOTY edition + all the DLCs and base game included.

"It's a trap"!!
Wait, how do you get an 80% discount? I was sure that this was a standard 70% off (and that it what is displayed for me on the main page), but when I visit the game page I get a 75% discount.

Thank you. The last sentence alone was way more useful than posting ellipses and repeating the same statements ad nauseam without addressing the point.

By buying everything TW3-related, even if it's redundant.

You didn't ask "which one I should buy to get complete game", you asked why are there so many items on that list.

No, you don't have to buy everything, select 5 items from the list (things already owned do count towards that) to get maximum discount. It's the same for other bundles during this sale.

If you just buy the Witcher 3 GOTY you'll still get the 80% discount.
