Nah, I'm just more on the slow side today so most new information kinda bounces off my skull.

SalarShushan: Prickly pear is the fruit of a cactus plant.
New Vegas taught me that!
Seems rather useful, maybe I should get a cactus.
Zacny said hangovers might be a kind of protective device to keep us from doing something we shouldn't do — such as driving or operating a band saw.
While nothing but common sense keeps us from getting hungover in the first place.
So I found out I couldn't make a thread because it included links, and when I took the links out, I could post. When I tried to put the links back in, GOG said I couldn't post any links yet. I just registered today, but does anyone know when I will be able to post links?

Edit: The answer is 10. 10 posts required before you can post links.

Yet another random question: Has anybody noticed that now there is a scrollbar under the screenshots in the game pages and that also it is now more evident on the game page whether a game is wishlisted or not? Check the attachments to see what I mean. :-)

P.S. Of course, there's a possibilty that this is known already and I'm late to the news...again.

The site received a few updates, today. Here is the full list.

Thanks a lot for linking to this post ! :-) I'm relieved that at least I wasn't too late to find out, as the changes occured "only" 6 hours ago.
At any rate, I highly appreciate those changes, especially those I already mentioned on my post.
I am glad they made those changes. They still need some more color and to fix the forum search function, but hey, it's progress!

Still no opinions on the new Doctor Who? seriously?
Personally, I think he's kinda fun. Reminds me of Hartnell's performance, with a dash of Pertwee's actiony stuff.

I still have to catch up with the series: I watched the last episode with David Tennant not too long ago! :)

Question for all the pilots out there: if you had to choose only one of the space flight games available on GOG, which one would you pick, and why?

What pathfinding algorithm do turkeys use, and why are they totally confounded by a wire-mesh fence? Because it's too regular or continuous?

Twenty wild turkeys calmly strut up to the fence in the backyard. They break into small groups which slowly follow each other back and forth along a relatively short section. For like 15 minutes. Back and forth, back and forth, beaks nearly touching the fence as they walk. At some point, one turkey finally flies up atop the fence, and hops over to the other side. It heads off to the woods a ways and makes more noise in the dry leaves than any animal should. Like it wants to be a snack for something else.

It's another several minutes before a second turkey decides flying is the way to go. Then again a wait. And maybe a few fly over. But there's no collective "Aha, that'll work!" realization. For whatever reason, the turkeys still confounded by the fence begin to panic a bit, and now they are racing back and forth along the same section, eyeing the group beyond. One by one, they make the slow decision to fly. Once the 19th launches over, you might expect the last turkey to do the same. Nope. It charges back and forth in a frenzy for another several minutes before finally flying over.

And here's the kicker: It's an enclosed yard. They all must have flown over the fence to get in in the first place.

Anyway, just wondering about their thought process.

Turkeys are basically food, so don't expect advanced AI ;-)

Reminds me of the pathfinding algorithm of the original BG and IWD.
why does my volume in adobe flash (watching stream) goes down by itself! Just did it today first time, and it did it again about 5 times. Irritating

I like him, but I'm biased due to being slightly related to him.

I'm not keen on Moffat's writing (or more accurately his story arcs) in general, but Peter's performance and style have been great. The last few episodes have definitely been an improvement over the first few in the series.

Not sure if this the right thread to ask, but here's something that confuses me.

I've seen a few posts from native English speakers from the US use "that" where I would and think they should use "than".
Example (emphasis mine):
[...] the logic of the models is eventually revealed to be more sophisticated that Iniurfas Mark IV = scum.
Non-native English speakers that use US English also seem to do this.
Example (emphasis mine):
[...] who have more experience that me.
Is this a thing in US English when making comparisons? I don't think I've come across it before, and it does sound strange to me.

HypersomniacLive: snip
I think it's a simple typo, just like using "then" instead of "than". :P
It also doesn't help that it's prohibited to edit your posts in a mafia game, even for simple typos.

At least, that's what I understand, as a non-native speaker.
