WHY does Black Mesa have entire sides of beef stored in their cold storage rooms!?

WTF are they running a steak house on the side?

Don't know... maybe for experiments?

That's what they said at Steam. Well that and someone told me off for asking such a stupid question. :P

sasuke12: What was the 1000th game released on gog again?

Witcher 3 expansion ?
avatar
Enebias: If you consider the expansion pack as a separate game, yes.
It would be more correct to say that it was the 1000th entry, but there is little difference.

omega64: I THINK GRID has a LAN mode. (very unsure though)

Enebias: Thanks, I'll check it out! :)
Hello everyone,

I haven't been an active member of the forums, but I am a huge fan of GoG.com, but read on and you might understand a bit more.

I am an Engineering Officer in the Merchant Navy.

Every country in the world has thousands of people at sea at any one time. Even land locked countries have ships registered and flagged to them. And those of us, who there is a huge percentage, at sea and like computer games do not usually have access to internet on the ship, and even if we have some form of internet beyond e-mail we can not play games across it.

So we have a few options.
A. Singleplayer
B. Split screen console gaming (Ugh)
C. Network LAN gaming!

There is some great LAN titles out there we play a lot,
Call of Duty 2 + Modern Warfare
Delta Force Black Hawk Down
Windward
FlatOut 2
Empire Earth
Age of Empires
Sins of a Solar Empire

You get the idea. But we are quite limited, as most new games, don't have LAN, require internet activation and login.

What newish titles do people recommend for us guys? And would you please pass the word on to Indie developers, there is estimate 1.5 million people at sea today, including 500,000 passengers and 1,000,000 crew on 53,000 ships. Another 38,000 ships are turning around in port or in refit. The number goes up slowly as the global fleet increases. That is a huge customer base.

Want to know more;

So any suggestions of games we could play on the ship?

Regards and happy gaming.
I guess "Silent Hunter 2" is out. :P
Is limiting download speed per thread a practice by ISPs?
Examples: Each individual download does not pass 150KB but if I download more files at the same time I can reach a global speed of 1.1MB. Twitch 720p streams does not play fine unless I use "streamlink-twitch-GUI" and increase "HLS segment threads" from 1 to 6.

Is it okay to leave my external hard drive plugged in all the time?

Umm, it shouldn't be any worse than leaving your PC running all the time with the internal hard drives spinning all day long. Generally speaking.

thank you :D
I was thinking of upgrading my mobile (a samsung E1120). The guy in the shop mentioned something about bolt ons. I forgot to ask him, so does anyone know.....do bolt ons come with a free spanner?

Speaking of mobile phones, am I the only to see the irony when someone tweets their outrage about something....on a mobile phone made by a 5 year old in China?

Depends, do you have a cat? If you do, consider to glue it down.

I mean the cat, of course.
Anyone have recommendations for games similar to DoW 2? Real time tactics, squad based games?
I'm watching an American football game right now and it's 2 F on the field.

Do they have condition perimeters for football in Europe? Is there a point with rain, snow, or temp that they call it off?

It depends on the field of play. If it's natural and it's raining too much usually at some point the ball get stuck on the mud and the matchs are funnier sometimes but unplayable. The responsibility falls on the referee, he must suspend the match if the ball doesn't roll properly.
Don't worry about the players. They wear heated clothing nowadays.

Cool thanks. :D For some reason I just became really fascinated with this last night.
I know in most countries rugby has no limit. Those guys will play in lava flows. :P

Last night's game became a problem because every play meant pulled muscles and sprains with the cold not to mention the ball expanded and became hard as a rock making it hard to grasp and really slippery. Pretty boring.
