As with most other Steam errors, shut it down and restart it. That's how I've fixed it when I've gotten the same message.

They are a friend but it doesn't work. I've got two of my own Steam profiles myself and can't trade between them also, getting the same fairly useless error. No idea what the problem is except perhaps it could be because I am using the beta client. If I could get it to work though I'm probably going to give away all of those Snow Globe things as they're nothing really useful to me but other people seem to derive some kind of usefulness or enjoyment out of them. I've got about 15 of them altogether from voting mainly.

I thought they hired a haberdasher to shape the TF2 market with hats?

Does anyone want to trade their items? I'm looking for dota ones: I got the common for realm of the mad god, uncommmon for warframe and rare for war thunder.

As a monetization commodity, items in Steam are seeing a crash in general - everyone and his dog has latched onto the idea of making money from cards and items, so the market is flooded with them now, causing them to depreciate massively. It's like a smaller scale version of Bitcoin - a virtual, non-exhaustible good with an arbitrary value attached to it.

If the reason why trading is broken is because they consistently do not have enough server power to run the trading system then the trading system is broken as designed for my purposes and needs to give me a serious incentive to use it. Spending 2 hours hitting F5 to give something away or sell something for 15 cents is a massive failure of an economic system of immense proportions IMHO. If it excites some people to battle a broken system for hours for a benefit that is rather negligible in actual value then I suppose they'll happily use it. I'm just failing to see the value personally for my own intents and purposes so far at least. I've got about a dozen of those cards sitting here ripe to give to someone who is collecting them and make someone's day per se. but not at the expense of 3 hours of my time hitting reload. I will try it out another 2-3 times before the promo ends to pass the cards from one of my accounts to the main account and if it ever succeeds, I'll put up an offer here for all of the cards to whoever needs them. Not holding my breath though. :) At least my votes were not done in order to obtain the cards in the first place or I would probably be upset I couldn't use or trade them. :)

Which ones do you need? Momo1991 just helped me solve the problem I was having trading by casting some arcane magic spells and waving a wand around while chanting incantations and whatnot, so I might be able to help you out. :)
