Darkest of Days is a FPS that has been on Steam since 2009, making it one of the oldest games on the store, and it has never EVER been sold at a discount. This can be verified via SteamDB.

It's the only game by both it's developer and publisher. It also got an Xbox 360 release. Jim Sterling called it "the worst first-person shooter of this generation" in his review for Destructoid back in the day.

I remember a running joke about Arx Fatalis never going on sale here on GOG. It did eventually, tho.

Darkest of Days seems to have faded into an even deeper level of obscurity than the usual obscure game thanks to the publisher's refusal to sell it for anything less than full price.

Has anyone here on the forum ever played Darkest of Days? Would you like to see it on GOG.com? Do you know of other games that also never go on sale?

Here's the Community Wishlist entry if anyone wants to vote for it https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/darkest_of_days

I haven't played this game... but now I want to since you piqued my interest. THANKS. ;)

Noticed there's a demo on Steam, might give it a shot.

I don't know Jim but he is 100% right. That game is no worth anyone's time.

Well, GOG already has Daikatana, so why not this horrid peace of software as well, some tortured soul would probably play it and get even more tortured. xD

I'm not totally sure, but I think DLCs for Battle Brothers never went on sale. The main game did, so I don't know if that counts.

Honestly, when it comes to Jim, it's better that you don't know him, in my opinion.
Daikatana goes on sale all the time, which is the opposite of what this thread wants to discover. I got it here and on Steam thanks (?) to the "generosity" of those severely discounted Eidos bundles that appear every two or three months.

I saw that, and it was kind of a bummer because I really want to try Battle Bros. I think I'm going to buy it during the end of year's sale though.

It would be interesting to reveal which other actually good games have never been on sale, or don't go on sale often, or when they do they never get really interesting cuts. I mentioned Eidos and I'd like to point out that Squeenix's western franchises go on sale all the time as I said, but almost always japanese ones, most notably Final Fantasy, do go on sale, but they get 50% off at most, IF they get discounted at all. Kinda weird.

EDIT: Now that I think about it... has Total War Rome, the first one, gone on sale, ever? It doesn't seem like it. And it's hilarious/sad to see when ALL the TW gamex EXCEPT for that single one are on sale.
