B1tF1ghter: That would be... exceptionally scarse selection wouldn't it?
Regardless of my low expectations for Linux support on GOG the list of discounted Linux games was surprisingly long during the Spring sale, already too long for my budget. :P

B1tF1ghter: Also... many "native" Linux ports are within wrappers anyway (mostly older games) or are performing worse than Windows native versions running through Wine.
Most of these wrappers are detectable, like DOSBox or SCUMMVM or the few Wine wrapped games on GOG. But even with wrappers I prefer to support developers which care about Linux over those which do not bother to do so.
My "replacements" for the XCOM games were Shadow Tactics and Hacknet. I've not yet tested how well Hacknet runs on Linux. But I've already played the demo for Shadow Tactics and it was running well.
I rather would have bought XCOM 1 and 2. But both games still were quite expensive, even with the discounts, and I cannot risk to spend so much money on games just to see that I cannot run them. It really annoys me that GOG does not have the Linux versions...

Apparently GOG does not like emojis.
More like the forum code likely couldn't handle implementing them properly without causing the entire thing to start smoking and sputtering.

B1tF1ghter: Wait... GOG's input form accepts external fonts/colors/characters??????
It does not; those are just Unicode characters.

In the Spring Sale XCOM 2 was dirty cheap. Did not check XCOM, but most probably it would be the same.

Additionally, you might speak with GOG about this. Possibly they would allow refunding if the game ends up not working on your computer. But you would have to check that with them or wherever the refund policy is written.

There is no such thing as "it's impossible to implement due to coding issues".
If one set of code or CMS is incompatible you just then replace it with appropriate one.
It just means whoever is in charge of GOG's CMS implementation did a sloppy job (considering how awfully attrocious this forum system is it's definitely the case).

Well, yes and no.
I wouldn't exactly call shipping Wine wrapped build really "caring" about Linux.
But then it's still better than nothing.
Unfortunatelly there are also cases where developers are clearly just too lazy to make a proper port and just wrap it :/

I think in such case either
A.They would go all "30 days refund no questions asked"
or
B.Refuse to refund because of "unsupported system".
I really don't think they would EVER provide support for running Windows ports under Wine.
Not anymore anyway.
The days of (GOG)Judas are no more.
