deleted_user: There might be a few people with that level of naivete, but generally people are not gonna fall for this.
If you want a sure-fire way, how about displaying your post count, as opposed to your rep. For long-time users it's a bit harder to fake and is certainly harder to bring down overnight with a cup of coffee and a script.
phaolo: This shows that you haven't been on Gog that much in these years.
(frankly, I only know you mostly due to Jerkmuter in these months. And I check the forum daily) A ton of people have been scammed here. And before the alert thread, scammers even entered giveaways (with alts) to resell free gifts. -_-

phaolo: It's not enough.
Trolls post a lot and some people posted 1000 times 1 word in a single thread.
Does this make them legit users? Not much.
We'd need a system that considers various variables.
If post count is not good enough, then rep is most certainly not good enough.
And to be honest, there are people who will always get scammed no matter what. I mean, there are people who respond to the Nigerian Prince and give him their bank account. There is no cure for that.
Still, if you want a more or less absolute protection, a user number will do it. Unless you get hacked, but then you got bigger problems. The sad and unfortunate truth is that people won't look at that number even if it's displayed right under (or above) your avatar.
